Joe's leaving work to come get me and see if we can get it cranked. :bang:

You are right I am pretty beat. But mostly hungry....something about working beside of and smelling Subway all day long will do that to ya sometime :D

Nope, still here waiting on my tall, handsome, wonderful, loving, caring, father of my child husband.

Hopefully he will be here any minute. Thank goodness there is an Advance Auto Parts in the parking lot where I work as well, just in case it is something that can be fixed tonight and they have in stock.

Car problems stink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think you need a foot rub, back rub and to be spoon fed after this. Stress is not good for you:hugz:

It sounded just like it did when the fuel pump went out. Well, we tried to jump it anyway, didn't work. The guys from Advance auto came out with the battery tester....not the battery, they brought out the code tester for when the check engine light came on "No errors found" then the guy was like......This has a theft system, so we read up on it in the manual, wait with the key turned to the on position for 10 minutes like it said. The theft light stopped blink and it cranked right up.

They said it could be the sensor in the key/keychain going bad. When it goes into theft mode it shuts off the fuel pump so you can only go an few inches before it dies and then you have to reset the whole thing.

At least it didn't cost anything to fix :D And the next time it happens we'll know what to do.

Glad it didn't cost you anything to fix. I'll have to remember that about the theft system incase that ever happens to me!

Tell me about it. I just hope those idiots at the dealership were smart enough to check for that in August before they put in a new fuel pump.....I may have to go into witch mode and call and see if they check that before they replace fuel pumps ;)

Glad they figured it out. That happens to dd's car sometimes too.

Oops.....

When the guy from Advance Auto was out side with their machines, he had his flashlight. Well, when they were hooking up the code tester to check to see if that would tell them anything, they handed me the flashlight.

BIG MISTAKE.....Guess what I found in my car when I went to get my rain coat.....oh well. So not only was my car in theft mode, but I became a little theif myself...lol

At least its not dark and I'll be off work before it is and can run it down there.

Also they close at nine and we were there until a little after and one of them stayed out there with us almost the whole time (he was the one that had the idea about the THEFT MODE thing) anyway, since he didn't want to leave us, but had to start locking up the store he left and went back in. Once it cranked up after that Joe went and gave the manager one of his business cards and told them to come in and have a meal on him next time they were down there for helping us out and stay over ;)

so - that's how we thank people who help us get our car started - by stealing their flashlights?!?!

Kat I'm thrilled for ya that it didn't cost you anything to get it fixed. About a month ago, dd's car broke down just behind an Advanced Auto Parts place and since my nephew came and helped her out (he's a diesel mechanic) it saved her about $300 on a pulley replacement. ;) I told her, always, ALWAYS break down near an auto parts store.....:lol:

j/k as soon as Tom comes in I'll run it down their. I probably could have been their and back a dozen times since I opened at 8 and haven't had a single customer yet.

Although, I know about the time I try to walk out the door someone will come in.

I'm so glad that it wa not an expensive fix thing! We're looking at having to replace the fuel pump in our old Escort GT.:bang:
