Why is it that my birthday just isn't important to my dh? Why does he insist on going to karate class tonight and not coming home until 10:00 PM? He didn't even wish me a happy birthday this morning--my 4 yr old dd did and then scolded him for not doing it too.

I understand that *his* birthdays aren't big deals to him, but sheesh...I have very little family around here, and then he bails too? :(

Mine is the same way, and no matter how often we discuss the whole "special days" issue, he manages to screw it up every single time. I know though that it does suck every single time.

Last year dh chose my birthday to yell at me about something very special to me, and made me cry.. on top of that he bought me something I had told him specifically not to buy me..that he knew I didn't want, it was completely for him.

Sheesh, men. DH ordered my Mother's Day present on Tuesday and is surprised that it didn't come by today!
I worked in shipping for several years and could have told him it wouldn't arrive on time! I am glad to know it's not just my DH who pulls this kind of stuff. Go buy yourself some chocolate--heck, evn pay FULL PRICE for it! Did I REALLY say that? WOW! :)

I know what you are saying.Never got nothing for my birhtdays,have to remind him about them,mothers day nada till this year(my 5th one)and this july will be our 5th anniversary and never a card nothing,then at christmas i pick out my own gifts.I think sometimes men get married so they can have a mom

Amanda I think you are right. Though I admit my Dh doesnt have this problem. He is very thoughtful to special days. Course he is a Mama's boy too lol
