Okay ladies...remember those boxes you found for your homework? It's time to begin to fill them.

I will start you out slow. I want you to walk around your house and find one item...just one...that no one in your house no longer uses and I want you to put it in the box. If you come across something that is in bad condition, toss it, but you still must locate one item for the box. It could be anything...an appliance you came across in the cabinet clean out (I'm putting an old steamer that I never use in my box), could be a book you no longer read, a knick-knack that is sitting on the shelf and you never even look at...literally, this could be anything. Small or big, just find something.

Today it is one item, but we will be filling those boxes, trust me. I want you to begin to get into the habit of critically looking at what you own and being able to be honest with yourselves about whether or not your belongings are useful or pleasing to you, or whether you are just used to having them around.

Ready? Set? Go. This assignment is due by the end of today.

Done. One of DD's dollhouse's that she has outgrown. Also, 35mm camera that we don't use.
In garbage, Food Processor that doesn't work.

Putting more stuff in there today.

Done - a wreath I don't use went in.

Done. Put some paperbacks into the box. I'd love to chuck them all, but they aren't all mine to toss. :(

Done.........8 paperback books have been added to my tote!!!!!

I'm gonna need a bigger box - I will be back to post what I put in later - after I get the bigger box.

Done--- some jeans that dd doesn't like, 4 books, and some toys that my great nieces/nephews have outgrown (will see if my niece wants them for the new baby that is coming next summer)

I put in several items of holiday jewelry that did not get worn once this Christmas and a couple of items of clothing too.

Done. I put in an old flower arrangement.

I have storage bowls that I don't use because I have tooo many so the ones I dont use are going :grnwave:

Done... bunch of books, a wallet & a stuffed spider, lol.

I just tossed 7 lids to storage bowls that dissapeared:confused:
donating 5 bowls w/lids & 2 tv dinner type bowls w/lids. Now my cabinet looks so much nicer & I can reach the bowls easier :thumb:

I have three boxes, but then again, as a teacher I got a lot of stuff for Christmas that I'll be selling. Why don't they believe us when we tell them that they don't need to get us anything, but if they feel they must, homemade cookies or a donation in our name would be a great gift?

Cool, I guess I'm not as far behind as I thought. I just read this post, got up from the computer and grabbed a box that I was gonna throw out from Christmas. I just placed some old crafting books inside. I'm done!

Threw out several old issues of Southern Living this morning that I had cut gardening info and recipes out of.

Amy, what happens when you filled the box on the first day? I filled the box with clothes we no longer need / wear. I need more boxes!

Done - got a bunch of rubber stamp sets to sell.

Then you find another box! I have three that are full right now and I'm working on another one. Gonna be a good sale!

Did this the other day, and I actually found more than one thing to put into the box--candle stuff I don't use, bears from Mcdonalds, kid toys, and I am sure I will find more as time goes on....
