What spices/herbs do you enjoy using and on what?

I have started buying a couple spices per week to stock my spices again. There are so many new and great combos out now. I am looking for some ideas.

TIA,
mom2tam

I use onion and garlic powder a lot, and in just about everything. My spice cabinet is FULL! I also started using Mrs. Dash (great on a baked potato as well as poultry and other meats) and white pepper (milder than black pepper).

Spices can get expensive, so I buy one every so often, and they generally last a while.

I love all of the Ms. Dash Spices, especially the EXTRA SPICY.

I seem to use lots of chile powder, dried pepper flakes and Mexican seasoning. My husband loves spicey food! /phpbb/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif

I use lots of garlic and onion powders. I also love Montreal Steak Seasoning, it is wonderful. I use Rosemary and oregano pretty often. I keep Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg and Allspice for Baking.

Oh and since I am from Texas, we have to use chile pepper, cumin, and red pepper too.:D

One of my new favorites is called Hot Shot-- it's red and black pepper combined. DH & I love hot foods and we add at the table to many dishes.

I also use a lot of Cilantro and Mrs. Dash.

My spice cabinet is full too. On one side next (above)to my stove are all my liquid seasonings & oils. On the otherside is a corner cabinet with a lazy susan in it. The shelves and the space below the shelves hold all my spices and mixes.

I use lots of different kinds garlic, basil, organo, paprika, different peppers... I guess I use the garlic powder granuals the most on bread, sauces, egg dishes...

Starting to get fresh herbs out of the garden. The lemon verbena for my tea, chives for salads & potatoes, rosemary & thyme for chicken and more are on the way.:)

Now I really should go organize that cupboard....

We use a lot of garlic powder and chili powder. I don't allow much salt. Our spice cabinet is full too. I get what we use the most at Sams, and the others at the Dollar stores,or when they are under $1.00 a jar. We have a few mixtures, but not many.

Hmmm, I need to look for that Hot Shot, the hotter, the better!!

I love cumin, cayenne and chili powder. I love the smell of Rosemary and make sure to put a ton of it on my leg of lamb and speghetti sauce. I go through alot of Italian Herb blends as well.

I use a lot of garlic and lemon pepper. I find they help me from over salting things.

:) I really like Emeril's Essence. It is great on EVERYTHING. It is a little price in the regular supermarket but it is more reasonable at places like Sam's Club's or BJ's. You can also make your own the recipe can be found on the foodtv.com site (I think this is the right address. if it isn't I write back and correct it.)
I also like rosemary and thyme. They are great on chicken.
