My daughter Danielle is getting married. Her fiance, Arthur is in the National Guard and is a medic. Right now he is at Fort Stewart in Georgia. She is going in a few weeks to meet him there and get married. Then he is off to Fort Irwin, very close to me for a few months and then of to Iraq. Total he is supposed to be gone for 18 months. My daughter is the happiest and the saddest that I have ever seen her. Please keep them in your prayers.

Does anyone know where to get a FREE blue star banner? They were handing them out on the base the night he checked in they had a dinner. She was disappointed because she did not get one. She said some people had 6-10, while 2 people, she and another wife got none. Sad.

Now this war is even more personal for me than ever. Arthur is such a great guy and a great catch for my daughter. He is responsible, fun, intelligent and is so great with her children. He has one daughter of his own also. Can you tell the mother-in-law is excited.

Congratulations!

I heard on the news here quite awhile back that you could get those banners at the local VFW? Give that a try....

Congrats Robin and Danielle! I'm thrilled for you both. I don't know for sure where to get your banner but you could do a search for blue star mothers.....I know when Aaron Austin was KIA his dad got a box of stuff from the gold star mothers. They are the ones that send to the families of fallen heroes.

Congrats to your daughter. Unfortunately, I paid for my blue star banner, so I do not know other than the VFW to check with. Best of luck to Arthur in his time in Iraq. Those months will go by before you know it, and you will be planning his return. I thought I would never get through my year, but here I am almost done. In less than 2 months, my Arthur will finally be coming home.
