My pool finally gave out this year - we had the one onn the bottom right - darn nice pool - easy to set up and easy to keep clean - only $200 at Costco and it lasted four years. Bruce wants to get the one on the bottom left this year and those are nice but its $1500!! He wants to connect the back deck to it and then connect stairs to that up to the hot tub level. I would like a real pool one day - like the big picture - thats what I always had in Phoenix and by the time we spent $1500 on the other one we would be 1/3 way towards the one I really want. I am thinking I would just like another one like the kids and I had til we could do the real deal.
My problem here in Colorado is that very few people have real pools and there isn't much info. The pool guys I have talked to said to avoid fiberglass and go with a cement pool but they could only support that with the fact that there are so few fiberglass ones available. I can't get any info on how they weather?? WE have no bentonite in our area - so no shifting and in ground never freezes that hard. Does anyone have any experience with fiberglass (or cement) in the colder winter climates?? Fiberglass insets are $3000 - there again more economical than the aluminum pool in terms of how long they last and maintenance in general.
