View Full Version : Do you like your boss?
Telephus44 01-13-2005, 10:07 PM Just a quick question - because I recently got my old job back but was told I would have a new boss and after three days they gave me back my old boss - whom I can't stand - drives me crazy! He is always right and I am always wrong, and he always goes back on his word - he'll not out and out lie, but it will always be "I don't remember saying that..." -and, well I won't get into a big long rant here. But I was talking about this last night with my aunt, and she said that she has almost never had a boss she liked, so it started me thinking...
Do you like your boss?
gkp1031 01-13-2005, 10:13 PM I'd have to say that I like my boss. As long as you do your work, he leaves us alone--which is great!! He gives me a lot of added responsibility, so I know he trusts and respects my decisions. Of course, there are days when he drives me crazy!
baxjul 01-13-2005, 10:49 PM I have the world's greatest boss! She is the type of person that cries when you cry. The other day I was missing my mother, and she started crying with me. She is the best boss that I have ever had. (And I've had alot!!!!)
Bargainmomtoo 01-14-2005, 12:13 AM Well, I'm the boss. I don't know what my employees would say, probably that I'm ok. :( I try to be fair, but sometimes it's hard.
Now, I work under a board of directors. Right now I have a chairperson that I get along with and who will listen to me. The last chair, who is still on the board, was always right and things had to be done her way. She's still a challenge at times.:bang:
So, I have it from both angles.
rebecca 01-14-2005, 08:03 AM Our boss is great! She works real good with us, but today is her last day!:( Hope we get someone as good as her!!
KKCondrey 01-14-2005, 09:15 AM I like my boss. The first week when I was training he was a bit of a pain, but I know he was under stress, because they were so short handed at the time. Since that week he's been fine (at least towards me), now everynow and then he comes down with male PMS and can be worse than a woman sometime. For the most part he his hardly ever working in the store I am at...which my be the reason that we get along so well :) He owns 3 and spends most of his time at one of those 2.
sunshine 01-14-2005, 10:40 AM I liked and respected my old boss--- then she left and they put in a lady that I had gone to college with--- I didn't like her then, and I like her even less now. She's dishonest, doesn't know how to do my job- yet continually tells me how I should be doing it (why do they put nurse managers in that can't work the floors? My boss doesn't know how to read cardiac monitors, doesn't know cardiac drips, etc. . .. yet tries to tell me how to manage my patient's care) If you don't get it in writing from her, she'll change her mind when the next person says something different to her..............
UGH
AmyMCGS 01-14-2005, 10:58 AM I have a great boss. I can't say that I always agree with things she does, but, she's very fair, honest, and a very good person in general. When DD was born and I didn't want to work full-time anymore, she took on some of my duties in order for me to stay part-time in the same position. Not too many people would do that! I really respect her a lot. She's also a fun person on a personal level.
seadream 01-14-2005, 11:13 AM No, I do not like my boss. He lies right to your face, he will tell you one thing and another person something totally different.
He is all about himself and no one else in the company.
One of the reasons why I gave my 2 weeks notice.
AmyBoz 01-14-2005, 12:52 PM LOVE my boss! In fact, one of the reasons I left my old school district to come to this one was because she left that one to come to this one! She's a fabulous principal.
Mom23boys 01-14-2005, 10:15 PM I love my boss too! She is so easy going and will sit and talk to you like she is just another employee. I think she is a great principal. When I was offered another position on another campus I declined because I didn't want to work for anyone but her.
Peaches 01-15-2005, 04:23 AM I have a great boss! She's understanding, supportive, and listens really well. She always gives me advice when I ask for it, and her criticisms are always constructive. I've learned a lot from her. In fact, all the teachers in my department are women, and I respect them and love them like sisters. We all get on really well.
SCDowney 01-15-2005, 02:32 PM I am fortunate to have a great boss. We have our moments, but always work through them.
She is honest and open. I can tell her anything; she is understanding, compassionate and willing to share from her own experiences. She gives and takes constructive criticism, which has helped us both to grow.
She gave me a performance evaluation just before she left on a year's leave this month. She really got into the nitty-gritty stuff, and has given me more responsibilities in order to keep me interested and challenged. I love my job, but am getting bored with some parts of it.
I really like my new boss; she is honest, straightforward, very logical & analytical but doesn't waste time and keeps her word.
I have been tempted to move to a government job for more $$$, but I keep asking myself if the money would be worth a possible poor work atmosphere (quite likely). The positions are usually for one area of accounting only, whereas in my current position I do everything and I love the variety.
My boss is great!!He is in a different building and I can go days without hearing from him. He comes when I run into a major mproblem but otherwise I'm on my own. cau
Michele Annette 01-16-2005, 03:03 PM I love my two bosses!! They are caring, giving and keep the compliments coming on our work!
