After all these years I still can't find a kitchen (13 gal) trash bag I like. Ruffies always tear on me, name brands cost to darn much. And WHY can't someone make a trashbag that is at least as tall as my trash can????????

I'm not REALLY brand loyal but I really, really like those bags made by the sam's brand (can't even think of the name of it, what does that tell ya?!) that have the drawstrings. They fit my trash can and will hold to the dumpster, unless I've put bricks or something like that in it! (which dh accuses me of) ;)

I pretty much stick to glad bags. I can't use the cheapo brands, they tear on me. I really pack a bag full. I usually only use about 3 bags a week total so using the Glad bags isn't too expensive. I do agree that nothing actually fits all that great in the trash can. I always thought it was jus my can. To me they are never really wide enough at the top.

I use bags called Tuff Stuff (I think that's it) from Dollar General or the same bag with another name at Family Dollar. They're $2 for 45 bags, and they are REALLY strong.

I usually use the store brand and instead of buying the kitchen garbage bags I usually buy the bags that hold up to 30 gallons I think they are the outside bags!! I use them and I can usually get good use out of one bag I can put alot more of our trash in one of these bags then a regular kitchen trash bag which tears a whole lot easier and doesn't hold much to begin with!! :)
I hope this helps you out!! :) I also try to find a coupon for name brand trash bags when I am shopping so if they are at a good price and I have a coupon on that brand I will buy it and try to stock up on trash bags when I have a chance!! :)

I don't buy trash bags at all. My trash can in the kitchen is small, and shopping bags fit in there perfectly. I cut handles on one side and tie it around the can. Works perfectly for me :)

I have to tie a knot in the top of mine to keep them from falling down in the trash can.

I think we, as consumers, need to DEMAND the trash can/liner industry STANDARDIZE size proportions for trashcans and liners!:smirk:

Simplegal, you must not have any kids, since you can get along with such a small trash recepticle.

I have Glad Quick-Tie now. I am pleased with the strength, and they fit OK, I just hate to spend that kind of $ on something I know I'm going to throw away!

I'll check those Sam's brand nest time I'm that way, I want to check their formula and diaper prices anyway. Our Sam's is right next to WM so it's almost easy. I REALLY hate:angry: to shop.

Thanks!:D

I buy the Dollar General brand or Wal-Mart's brand most of the time.

we buy ..i think it's ruffies? They are scented..we love it for the scented part..but they aren't too strong so if we fill it too much we have problems..so we just have to make sure and empty it sooner

I really like the Sam's brand one. We bought a box of it once and it lasted well over a year. Lately, I've been to lazy to go to Sams and have just been buying the Wal Mart brand for $1.50 a box. They're pretty tough, unless you put something with sharp edges in it. I tend to stuff the bags to their capacity as well, and they hold up.

I order mine by the case from Quill. I get decent trash bags and free stuff since they always have those codes that can be used when you place and order.

Simplegal, we also use the grocery bags as our garbage bags. I do wind up having to empty it more often than if I used a real kitchen trash bag, but it works okay. And I do have a daughter who makes a lot of garbage!

I use Hefty kitchen trash bags, and in the other rooms I use the plastic grocery bags.

We use the Members Mark brand from Sam's. They aren't any better than any other trash bag we've tried, but are cheaper.

I have used Hefty Cinch Sak for several years now and we like those. I've bought Glad, and store brands as well but always go back to the Cinch Sak.
I also like the K-mart brand of cinch sak..it has the ties just like cinch sak does. They seem to be thinner but worked ok :)

My dh works at Sam's and I have NEVER used the Sam's brand  I need to make a trip there soon anyways ;) and will pick me up a box.............

I use the Wal-Mart brand with the drawstrings they are 1.50 a box and they work pretty good, they also seem to hold a lot my ds who takes out the trash believes if you keep smashing the trash down you never have to take it out. lol. So far we havent had a ripped bag yet.

I use grocery bags all the time. My garbage can is actually a frame mounted inside my kitchen door and the handles of the grocery bags kind of attach to the frame. Do you know what I mean? I hope so. I don`t know how else to explain it.:)

I have tried virtually every bag on the market and I was always dis-satisfied with all of them:( I have used ALDIS 13 gal bags now for 5 years and they are the best as far as I am concerned:) Cheaper than the rest of them too!:D

we buy the Great Value brand kitchen bags from Walmart (they are as thick as Glad brand bags), or we get the big box of Member's Mark from Sam's (but those don't seem to hold up as well as the Walmart ones.

I do not buy garbage bags. Do not use garbage can either. I have a hook that I hang the plastic shopping bags from and take out once or twice a day if needed. I do daycare and with the diapers I like it to go out often anyway. I do not use any paper products so it doesnt fill up as often as it used to!

Been doing it this way for over a year, and still have abundance of plastic bags. Plus no smelly garbage overnight, or buying of bags, or cleaning of cans. A plus!

I use the Force Flex/Ultra Flex...Glad and Hefty both have a version and I can't say that I like one better than the other. If I buy a "regular" trash bag, I always check the mil...that's the strength of the bag. Anything under .95ish is a waste of my money.

Trash bags and toilet paper are two things I don't buy on the cheap. I've found that skimping (sp?) on those causes us to use more so we're not really saving anything.

Aldi's trash bags or the dollar store ones. I like Aldi's better.

I always buy the store brands... I refuse to spend 8-9 dollars on a box of garbage bags, and my bf is always complaining about the "cheap garbage bags" but I keep telling him - " I'm throwing them away"

I don't buy trash can liners either, instead keep the plastic sacks from shopping and use those. We go through 2 a week since we try to recycle or compost most things.

Hefty Cinch Sak! I buy the super big box and it lasts a long time. I live in an apt. and have to carry the trash to the dumpster, so I can't have them tearing.

Right now I am using office depot brand. I had a coupon for $20/$20 and did not need any office supplies so got the 200 ct box. It has been open for at least 6 months.
They are pretty good bags.
We only use about 3 bags a week.
We have more recycling than trash.

I use whatever is on sale. If I find a good sale I'll buy a few boxes, I hate to be low on garbage bags!

I dont use trash bags either. Simple grocery store plastic bags do it for me. I usually run around and combine them all into one bag and it works out great for me. I figure I produce one shopping bag/wk of actual garbage. The rest is recycling. I'm slowly dwindling down my stash of plastic shopping bags too :( Between my using the cloth reuseable bags and the compost bin that the city picks up weekly...they're slowly going away LOL. I always ask friends for theirs if we go shopping and usually each time I see someone I get another stash  Beats throwing them out right?

I only use Glad or Hefty now. Those are one of the few things that I have become brand loyal to. But I only buy them when I have a coupon. We love the scented ones. When we run out though, I just use grocery bags until I absolutely have to buy them again.

Costco's Kirkland brand. I have never had one tear. And a box lasts me over a year.

I use target shopping bags or supermarket shopping bags. If I don't have any, I get some from my sis, since she doesn't use the reusable shopping bags.
We have a simple human door hanging trash receptacle that takes the shopping bags. Everything else is in the recycle bin.

I guess my answer won't help, since I don't use trash bags per se.
