Oh well, I knew the time would come. I got to work today and looked at the schedule and I am only working Monday and Tuesday next week. Of course I do have a Dr's appointment on Wed. so that is why I am off that day. On one hand I don't mind if this is my last week, but on the other hand, I really want to work (at least while I am still able).....I hate being at home and doing nothing. I know once the baby comes I'll be more than happy being at home but until then I really want the extra income, then again, I don't want to go into labor at work....lol

Consider it as "a sign" and just go with it. Sorry you will be out the extra money though. I hate it when the company pushes you out like that but some employers are afraid of pregnant women.:toothy:

Good luck in however it turns out.

I went into labor (not full blown, trying to push labor, but intense pain, water did not break or anything either) at work. I was a "pastry/pantry chef" (doesn't that sound like heaven to a preggy?) at the resturaunt a few doors away. I tell you it freaked head chef right out. He turned over his stuff to the next in line (Soux (sp?) chef) and got me in his jeep to drive me home...three doors away. I tried desperately not to laugh at th epoor guy. He was flippin out. I could have happily walked home faster than it took to get me into the jeep and out again. His panic in turn had DH freak out. Thank God that my mother was here. otherwise I would have been driven to the hospital with a entourage of chefs. Anyhow, I got home, Mom had me lay down and brought me water. She and I knew it wasn't "time to get my butt to the hospital" labor. She calmed the guys down, stroked their egos a little bit..."you guys are right on top of this, thanks so much...dunno what we'd do with out your help!" and finally things calmed down.

Looking back I should have taken my leave beginning earlier that week. :D

He said he is still going to let me work but he doesn't want me to be here long by myself, which I can understand. Most likely I will work some mid shifts on the busier day's instead of opening and being alone for 4-5 hours or closing and being alone for 3-4 hours. Besides its not just me loosing hours. He lost 3 people (including myself) and he has hired like 7  everyone thinks he is in the process of getting rid of some other people. Of all his stores (he has 3 in the area) only 2 people are working 4 & 5 day's and they are the ones that aren't in school and don't need anytime off.

Kat,
Honey, take the time off now to rest. Plus, being on your feet in the last few weeks of your pregnancy is really tough. I used to walk around holding my belly up because my stomach muscles hurt so badly. Another thing...do you really want to have to say to a customer "Oh, you'll have to excuse me while I mop up this puddle. No I didn't just wet my pants, my water broke!".:toothy:

Take the extra time off and NAP, NAP, NAP!!!!!!!! I can remember how sleep-deprived I was the first two months with a newborn. So take advantage of the time off and SLEEP, or do some meals for the freezer. Or both!:D

How exciting! When is your due date? What sort of work are you doing? Do rest if you can it will pay off when you've got your baby. :babybot:

My edd is Feb 18th (3 weeks from yesterday). I work at a UPS store so I am on my feet most of the day (when we have customers) walking from the front of the store to the back to the lobby. It's not hard work. Most people who come in here are regulars and if their packages are already packed they carry them to the back for me (on lady yelled at me for moving her box by myself and it only weighed about 13 lbs....lol) :D

I've been resting. Monday I left at 3 and got home and next thing you know Joe was telling me it was time to eat...it was 5:45, then Thursday I was off and slept from about 2-6....so much for getting anything done on my day off.

Today though (with the weather) has been slow. I've spent most of the time on the computer either here or at neopets playing games. It's great getting paid to play on the village :toothy:

Sounds like you're taking good care of yourself and that little baby, Kat. I hope these last three weeks fly by for you. For some reason the last few weeks of my pregancies seemed longer than all the other months lol. At tleast if you're working it'll go faster.

I wish you the best with this new stage of your life.

Try to get some rest Kat. I bet your feet are swollen from standing on them all day?

I don't know if you had posted this in an earlier post and I might have missed it, but do you plan on going back to work after the baby is born....not right after, but 6 weeks, etc.? Or do you plan on staying home?

Kat, I wish you the best in these few weeks at home. I hope you get plenty of good rest before your baby comes. Have you gone to the library for some new books or the video store for a couple of movies? Just a thought. I can't believe time flew by so fast! :D

Well, I e-mailed my boss and told him that if he needed me to work the same schedule as last week that I would and when I talked to him today he said he did schedule me to work both Mon & Tuesday again but he couldn't remember what the hours were because he hadn't sent out the schedule yet. At least that will give me a pay check, a small one, the week after the baby is due.

He is still saying that he want's me to come back. Although my goofball of a husband said he was going to call him about 2-3 weeks after the baby is born and see if he would schedule me to work on the 2 day's off that he had......MEN :bang: .....lol
