Please someone tell me the secret to the best homemade pickles.
Hoping to have crunchy and not discolored or hollow and somewhat close to store bought. *LOL*

TIA,
Sara

I just canned 24 quarts of pickles today. I use the Mrs. Wages mix you buy in the store. You mix 11 cups of water, 5 cups of white vinegar, and the mix in a large saucepot and bring to a boil. This is your liquid. Once you have washed your cucumbers and packed them into hot jars, you just have to add the liquid, put on the lids and put them in a water bath canner and boil for 10 minutes. It is that easy. I always get the Dill pickle mix. I have tried others, but my family prefers the Dill pickle mix. I think the pickle mix is about $1.59 per package, and I used three mixes today to do 24 quarts. Mine have always turned out, and my family loves them. Hope this helps.
