Okay, one more week and we're back full-force. Until then, however, I have a mini-challenge for you. By the end of this week, I want your e-mail and your pm box to be cleaned up.
Go to your e-mail. Look at your sent items. Anything you MUST keep? Then create a folder for it and put it there. Everything else, delete. Look at your inbox...do the same. After going through all of the possible folders and deleting all non-necessary e-mails, I want you to go to your deleted items folder and delete everything. It takes time, especially if this isn't something you do regularly. But do it now. Delete. Delete. Delete. It's just not necessary to have all that stuff in there. And, there is a nice feeling of satisfaction to be had from looking at a neat and tidy e-mail page. It's not as overwhelming as looking at a bunch of unreturned e-mails...things you think you'll forward, but you never have...links you meant to click on, but you never had the time, etc.
Then, come back to the village. Go through your inbox, sent items, and message tracking. Delete. Delete. Delete. You just don't need to keep them! If you've read and responded, you are fine. If the pm's have addresses you need, create a Word document on your computer and label it "FV Addresses." Then you have the necessary items saved and you can delete everything else.
Ooh, while we're at it...check your Favorites list. Do you actually visit all of those sites you have bookmarked? I know I don't. Go through and delete any site you don't have a need for or you don't visit regularly. My feeling is, if you haven't been there in a month, you aren't going again. Delete. Delete. Delete.
