I really hate the electric bill. It said I used $315.00 in one month.
Its usually around $150.oo a month.
I am just so mad because I don't use that much in one month.
I have wood stoves during going to keep furnace off. heat water for dishes. cold water to do laundry, all lights and stuff off when just me home. (most of the time )
New electic wiring because of a fire and we replaced it all.
I just don't understand.
Thought I had seen a way to get ahead a little.
Back to the drawing board.

Was it an estimate instead of an actual reading (it should state which on the bill)? Did you guys have some bad weather that prevented them from coming and doing an actual reading? Or possibly have they switched to bi-monthly readings?
I would definitely call and inquire. Ask if they'll send someone to do another reading and to show you the reading as proof.

They read it . I saw him when he came. I read it the next month.
Called and talked to them . He was going over all the stuff and I'm telling him no, no, no, Don't use that, no don't have that.
He said while then it shouldn't be that high. ( DUH )
Thats what you owe so you will have to pay it. ( DUH )
We finally got it worked out with a payment plan. :bang:

Hmmm... there was just an article in our local paper that this happened at a womans apartment, and turned out that her meter was actually mixed up with her neighbors. Here's a good way to check your meter out... Go to your breaker box and turn it off at the main switch. If you can't find that, turn them all off individually. Go out and look at the breaker box. If it is still turning, there's a problem!! Also, do you have a water heater blanket? Remember that even when you're not using heat, that is still working to keep your water warm. Use a blanket and lower the temp to 120 so it isn't working overtime to keep up. Unplug anything not being used. Even when not being used, they still draw a minute amount of power. Such as can openers, coffee makers, toasters, especially vcrs, dvd players, and tv's. I hope you are able to find the prob, cause that's a huge jump!

We have a new meter box because of the fire a couple years ago. All that had to be replaced.
We live in the country so everyone has their own meter.
I just needed to vent so I could get my head on straight.
I have been on a slow boil since yesterday.
Thanks for listening.

Sorry about that. You could check & see if your electric co. does free energy audits. They may be able to pin point where the problem is. Good luck!

Vent away! When our summer bills top $300.00 we always cringe. I hope you can figure out where the electrical "leak" is and get it back down. Good luck.:D

Wow that is extremely high. Is there anyway they can come out and re-read it. It sounds like its a mistake to me.

Found out alot of peoples electric bills went out through
the roof this month. A lot of mad people and not just our company
I really wish everyone could have their own windmills for power.
We have a lot of wind here even on nice summer days.
