View Full Version : Baby Name Help Sara Noel 06-16-2002, 12:31 AM I know we did a babyname abc thread, but I am still looking for babynames. Please list your favorites. I stare at hundreds of names and nothing is jumping at me yet. Sara KathiS 06-16-2002, 05:07 AM Oh my gosh! There are so many wonderful names that it is hard to know where to start! I think if I had it all to do over again, I would name my daughter a family name. One of my great great...grandmother's names was Jane Faith. I like that so much. Do you have any family names that you like? Jerseygirl 06-17-2002, 07:40 PM I love the eastern European names-Anastasia, Tatiana, Jozefa, Jozef, I also like the more English sounding-Jane, Elizabeth, Sarah, Julia, Julian, Zachary, Justin, then there is the biblical, Caleb, Joab, Eve........ doodlebug 06-17-2002, 08:33 PM I like Charlotte, Emmaline, Adalia, Valentina. And boy names, I like James, Noah, Orrin, and Wyatt. Congrats and I hope everything goes smoothly:baby: Jerseygirl 06-17-2002, 09:20 PM Ooh-I forgot Emma and Emily, those are 2 of my faves. AmyBoz 06-17-2002, 09:34 PM I like Emma and Hannah. PrairieRose 06-17-2002, 10:29 PM I love Savana for a girl......Daley for a boy........ Michelle 06-17-2002, 10:38 PM I am convinced this baby is a girl...so here are a few of my favorite girls' names first (keeping in mind the last name too): Grace (I like that more for a middle name) Amanda Kathryn Emily Emma (love this one) boys: Ryan William James Will add more when I think of them. Chelle milach 06-19-2002, 05:31 PM I'm with you on this Sara! Every name my dh mentions, I HATE!!!! If this is a boy, he wants Harold. ICK!!!! For a girl, he likes Amanda Lynn. Well, that's all good and fine, but he says it like A Mandolin. No F'n way! LOL!!! That's why I'm waiting until my ultrasound (this Fri) before we start going back and forth with names. No sense arguing over Harold if it's a girl, LOL! But for girls names I do like Amanda, Emily, Hannah, Ashley Right now, the only boy's names I've heard that I like (haven't run it past dh since I want to wait to find out what it will be first) is Liam. Such tough decisions!! Let us know when you guys decide!! Laura SNOWY23 06-19-2002, 06:03 PM Our names we chose are for a boy: Jason James- girl: Jessica Marie and our 2 yr old DD is Jennifer Morgan! I think Morgan would be a beautiful first name too!! CountryMom 06-19-2002, 06:44 PM For a girl I like... Emily Emma Sarah (probably not an option for you lol) Gabrielle Kaitlyn Claire Whitney Grace Natalie Isabella Morgan For a boy I like... Noah Jackson Paul (for a middle name) Harrison Chasen (rhymes with Jason) CAGmomof2 06-19-2002, 07:07 PM Jordan for a Boy and Halie for a girl!! mustang80 06-19-2002, 08:09 PM This was so hard when DD3 was on the way. I let older DD's help in the process, and when we found out it was a girl, the fighting began. I like Hayley, Alayna, Emily, and we named DD3 Courtney because we all agreed that we liked it. Boys names: William, Zachary. No more babies for us, so I never got to name a boy. I absolutely love my girls, so I was not disappointed. (I can't believe some people are like that). We are thankful to have 3 beautiful healthy girls. sixfreds 06-19-2002, 09:01 PM there are so many good names out there.... one of my favorite boys names is Jake (my Gunnar would have been Jake but my hubby Loved the name Gunnar and the triplets were going to be our last babies so I let him name the boy Gunnar and I have grown to love the name but still like Jake) Other boys names... Jack, William, Michael, David, Evan, Ian, Liam, Caleb, Nicholas Girls wells lets see my Rebecca would have been names Cassidy if I had my way (my maiden name) other names I wanted, Faith & Hope (I was trying to get pregnant a LONG time) Kaitlyn, Amanda, Julia, Anna, Hannah.. A cool thing to do is to combine yours and your hubbys names (I don't know if that is possible for you but :~) Is there someone in your family you want to name a child after that is another thought, all 4 of our kids have middles names after a grandparent (not always the best sounding together BUT).. Good luck and have fun....... Eileen MicheleMomof3 06-20-2002, 02:13 AM I think my SIL comes up with some interesting names for her children.....Annabella, Noah and the newest one Loralei (pronouced,Lor-a-lie). I have a step sister who named her daughter Asia which at the time I thought was just ridculous. But now when I see her, she is just so fitting of that name :) Couldnt picture her any other way! I have another fruitcake cousin who named her daughter Rayne Austyn (pronouced Rain Austin)....whats with the Y's??? LOL Same woman who named her son Chase cause the doctor had to chase him to get him on the monitor. Just one more odd name mention....my son has his first girlfriend. Well he is 10, its a girl he likes alot and she likes him LOL And her given real name is Diva.......huh?!? LOL Boy names I like..... Levi Dakota Noah Christian Jesse Wyatt Girls names I like.... Ariel Faith Madison Hope Isabella Grace ~Michele~ mustang80 06-20-2002, 08:43 AM LOL-Loralei is an old song by Styx! She must be a Styx fan! My niece named her daughter Nevada because they like to go to Las Vegas. We have a little girl named Montanna at our church. Sara Noel 06-21-2002, 05:21 PM Thanks everyone. Dh refused to name him Gary Jr. (thank goodness LOL) By giving my son both of his grandfathers names it felt like we were giving him family heritage/history from both families. However my second son -- got harder to name!!! We both liked Kyle but dh pronounced it COW LOL (i could hear the teasing before he was born- so that one was out) We did decide upon Matthew just before he was born. More of my choice. His middle name I let Dh choose -and he picked James (a very close and dear friend/mentor that passed away right after Matthew was born) Both of my boys like to hear how and why they were given their names--I think they feel a closer connection to the people they were named after. And its a wonderful way to remember and honor those that we love so dearly. Lori heaven 08-21-2002, 01:58 PM i am partial to Heaven ( I wonder why) LOL there is also Gabrelle, Gabe, Gage, Willow,Ridge, Storm, the list goes on.
