"The Complete Tightwad Gazette" by Amy Dacyczyn was the book that helped inspire me to frugality the most! I love her book! Has anyone else out there read it?

Yes I just love the book I have recently ordered the book and I am so glad I did !! :)
I have yet however to really gain any extra insight from the book!!
I have gain little tidbits here and there that I have tried to apply to my families life as well as mine!! :)

Oh yes, I love the Tightwad Gazette! I read about Amy D.'s frugality in the Parade magazine article in 1991 or so. It really inspired me. I bought all three of her books, and when I'm feeling like spending money, I get out those books and read them. She has another book coming out later this summer, I don't know if it is new material, or a compliation of her past books. I'm looking forward to reading it either way, I'm hooked on The Tightwad Gazette!!

I bought the new book which was the compilation of the three books in this one book! I was very impressed with al the information we find in it!

I didn't know about another book from her--that would be great! I have the one that is all three books compiled into one.

I bought the Complete Tightwad Gazette. It has all three of her books in it. I am just about done reading it. I know this isn't a very popular opinion around here but, While I find most of her ideas helpful, some of it is just a little "heavy duty" for me. I am really looking forward to the new book coming in August.

Yes, I find some of her ideas a little too much for me,too. I take what I find useful, and leave the rest. I think that is what she had in mind . I for one would never dumpster dive. I know a lot of people enjoy it, but I just couldn't do it.
Also, as far as cutting my kids hair,I tried it once, it didn't work. My kids finally started speaking to me again,lol. I also like for my kids to be somewhat fashionable, and would probably never buy clothes (except jeans) too far in advance.
Overall, I think her ideas are pretty reasonable. It made her rich! lol
