I'm in the west also I guess. Is there anyone from Montana here??? How are you doing Lavenderose? I'm in the NW part of Montana. I have not been to Utah, but I have been to Wyoming.

Wyoming is nice clean fresh air so much different from Utah. But It is terribly cold we have family there. I bet Montana has really cold winters?

Actually, here in the NW part, our winters aren't too bad. We do get about a week or less of -10 to -20 degree weather, but not every winter. lately, we haven't been getting all that much snow. I think we only plowed the drive way 5 times this last year. Average temp in winter is probably around 5 degrees. Summer can get up to 100 degrees. The one thing that drove me nuts in Wyoming was the wind and how it was always blowing! Here I am surrounded by mountains and I missed that also.
Utah's air is bad? I always picture Utah as high sage brush plains with air you can see in for miles.
