View Full Version : walmart black friday deals Sara Noel 10-21-2005, 09:33 AM http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/Sales/Store/walmart Englishlady 10-21-2005, 09:34 AM OK I admit, what do they mean by Black Friday? I thought that was some sort of reference to Wall street crashes ? Michelle 10-21-2005, 09:40 AM Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year...it's the day after Thanksgiving. :) Tons of great deals, early store hours, pure madness if you ask me! Michelle 10-21-2005, 09:41 AM Here's another: http://www.dealtaker.com/blackfriday.html Englishlady 10-21-2005, 09:47 AM Thanks Michelle!:) I hate it when I don't know what is going on:toothy: homesteadmamma 10-21-2005, 10:30 AM We don't have Black friday deals here, however we have what is called Boxing day sales, the day after Christmas and it's always a zoo, especially at places like Walmart. Those sales usually last a full week as well. I refuse to shop the week after Christmas only because people goes crazy. You take your life into your own hands whenever you hit those sales. Jayne 10-21-2005, 11:29 AM Thanks Sara and Michelle!!!:reindeer: Michelle 10-21-2005, 12:15 PM Originally posted by homesteadmamma You take your life into your own hands whenever you hit those sales. So true. I really hate the crowds. However, I usually go to the Joann's sale. That's how I got 34 yd of flannel last year for only $34 ;) I have been telling myself that I won't go again this year, but I haven't seen the flyer yet ;) I actually kind of like going to that sale because they open at 6:00 AM. So, I roll out of bed and drive on up there and wait in line outside at 5:45. Only the other fabric and craft nuts are that crazy ;) DorothyBeverly 10-21-2005, 12:39 PM Are these items going to be on sale after Thanksgiving or are they on sale now? daddys3chicks 10-21-2005, 01:20 PM They call it Black Friday because most retailers go "in the black" financially after this day. Katybird 10-21-2005, 01:43 PM Thanks ladies! jettsmom 10-21-2005, 03:04 PM The past few years, the only stores I have gone to are Ace hardware and Office Max, sometimes Sears if they have a good deal on tools. Last year at office max, we got so much for free. My husband bought stuff for work, then he bought stuff and then I bought stuff. The best was that it was free after rebate. I went to walmart one year after the doorbuster sales and still got the deals. They hadn't changed the prices yet. bamamomto4 10-21-2005, 03:31 PM I normally dont go because the nearest Wal-Mart was about 30 mins away. In 2003 they built a Supercenter less than 10 mins from me,so last year I braved it and went....there was hardly anyone there!! No waiting in lines,no people fighting lol I just figured everyone was shopping at JCPenneys,Macys..etc... And the day after Christmas was the same....hardly anyone there. Thanks for the list :) Missy 10-21-2005, 03:56 PM these sales aren't until the day after t'giving, yes? bamamomto4 10-22-2005, 01:23 AM yes Missy.....it starts after turkey day... Mom23boys 10-23-2005, 06:07 PM It is only for one day...the day after Thanksgiving. I can't believe there are lists already out! Thanks for posting them.:D HandyMom 10-24-2005, 09:56 AM I laugh every year at my family members who head out early in the morning to walmart for these day-after sales. They almost always come back empty handed and angry because walmarts around here have a bad reputation of not having any of the choice deals they advertise or they try and say it was sold out , only had one, didn't come in, etc. The excuses are varied but result the same. Actually, one year they advertised dvd players for cheap but few people bought them, seeing how cheaply made they were. They sat piled in the aisleways for about 2 months as they could not give them away! I do know that some other stores are better, such as Kohl's but I never really shop there anyway. GooD Luck to those of you who are hunting bargains! |
