I'm a New Yorker from Westchester County! :hurray:

I lived this passed year in Stockholm, Sweden however. I'll be back in New York in a few weeks to visit with family. After a month or so my husband and I are moving to the West coast - Washington state.

Technically, I am not from NY. I live in North Jersey, but I am so close to NYC that if I open the window and yell out hello...Someone in NYC can yell right back.

Be prepared at the time consuming and wonderment that went into thinking of a name of my town...

I live in West New York. Yup, WNY, NJ. It got it's name because it is..West of NYC. It confuses people most of the time and after 10 minutes of explaining that it is indeed NJ and not NY, I just give up and say I am from NY.

Saratoga Springs, NY is upstate and that is a very pretty area!
Horse country!

I'm downstate on the Island.
On a map when you see the state of NY, that little finger that sticks out into the Atlantic, right under Conneticut is Long Island.

I live a little west of the center
About an 60 min from NYC and 90 min from Montaulk Point ("The End" of L.I. south shore) I live about 30 minutes west of the Hamptons.

Well, that's still close! I'm only 4 miles away. I'll wave back!

I drive 88 a lot myself- 3 nights a week and whenever I'm on-call. I work at a hospital in the city and wasn't willing to find a new job when I moved to here. It is a gorgeous drive in the fall!

Those are the only 2 I know...and if you don;t want to post where you work, I totally understand...not trying to be nosy ;)

Darlene's son got a job at Howes Caverns this last summer, and I waved at him too on our way by.

Kimberlina

St. Peter's. There are tons of hospitals in the area- I just happened to pick the best one. :D

I haven't been to Howes Cavern in a couple years. Last time we went I took my nieces. We asked them if the had to go potty first, and of course they said no. Half way through the tour, the 3 year old changed her mind and we had to literally run all the way back to the elevator from the other end (just after we got off the boats, for those of you in the know,) me carrying her all the way. Kids!
