Yup, that's what it said, but I didn't see it the first time so it will be new to me:)

I'll be watching it. That is one thing I miss about talk shows now. It is very very seldom they do shows that actually teach you something. Most of the time it is some actor or singer or some perverted issue.

I saw it when it was on in September but it's good that those it missed it can view it.

Who watched this?

I'll say it again like I did the last time it was on. The mom with the kids - well all she wanted to do was be on Oprah. How can anyone not think differently.

I also can't imagine how the first husband felt when hit with $160,000.00 in debt and he only thought $45,000.00. She must have hid it really well.

I agree with you. Watching the parents with spoiled kids made me sick. I turned it off this time (I watched it in September). She didn't want to change at all. You nailed it - she just wanted to be on Oprah. I wish they would do a follow-up and show us where they are at now.

Yes, I watched it too. I missed the first segment, but I saw the other two. I was kind of disappointed in the program. I thought Dave would be giving specific advice; it seemed like it was more drama than anything.

I agree. The woman with the kids, most likely just wanted to be on t.v. She obviously didn't want to change. It didn't make any sense why she was on t.v. but to be on t.v. I was shocked to see the kids with the credit cards. And, I really don't buy it that she shops at Payless for shoes. Also, I don't buy it that she clips coupons and packs her lunch everyday. The whole scenerio doesn't make sense.

Also, the father said nothing. Neither of them even asked any questions.

The younger couple seemed to at least want to change.

I've been wondering who this Dave Ramsey guy is and now I know :)

This is the first time I've seen this episode. I missed the first segment as well. I can't believe how much those kids are spoiled!! Credit cards, brand new cars?? Heck I've never even had a new car and I'm 28. And even after she totalled the first car, they get her another one? Whatever. There's something terribly wrong with these parents. I wonder how much they make and what their debt is. I agree with you Shannon. I don't really think she clips coupons or shops at Payless. I mean, she justifies her kids spending at every corner. I hope she's happy that she got her 15 minutes of fame (is that too harsh :D )

Yeah...I agree with everyone when it comes to the two kids. That was absolutely disgusting. I cannot believe that the parents went so long thinking that it was okay! YIKES!

I saw it, I'd love a follow up.

I'm betting the idiot mother of the two spendy teens is no different.

But I wonder if Dave got thru to the teens themselves or to the dad.

I think that mother is giving those kids such a pile of future heart ache and trouble, and the sad bit is, she won't pay for any of that in future, they will. And the cost will likely be broken marriages, bankruptcy after she and her dh are dead and the kiddies have blown thru any inheritance and used up all the "second chances" that she will bankroll as they take on adult responsibilities.

She is raising financially crippled and stunted people who will never have a normal relationship with money unless some miracle lands on them and they all lose everything and have to learn to live poor.

On Dave Ramsey's show I think on the 6th he was talking about the Oprah show again. He said that he was in touch with one of the couples and they were doing good. He also mentioned that the lady had her baby - so it was clear that was the couple he is still in contact with and helping. He did say that some from the show were still doing the same old things ( my words) but again he didn't mention names but he it was obvious he was talking about the family with the teens.

You can pull it up on the archives if you want to hear.
