If we would have had the money, I would have loved to adopt a couple girls from China.

When we have the money, we will adopt one or two from China.

I know the process can take a long time. Our son is from Guatemala, it took 5 1/2 months after we sent all the paperwork down, before we could bring him home.

Gabe used to do dossier translations for Haitian adoptions and although any amount of waiting is too long, I think the process wasn't too bad. Then again, we weren't living the adoption process. We were just a small part of it.

I think I would want to adopt one from the good old USA. Not that a foreign adoption would be out of the question, but I also would want to adopt a older child.

I think the USA too. I have always wanted to adopt but we probably never will. I would like to adopt older children and/or siblings.

Somewhere in Asia, probably Korea. I really hope our government can get adoptions from Thailand and Vietnam fixed soon as well.

We've discussed adoption as a "someday" if it seems like what God wants us to do.

My first pick would be canada, just because there are so many children right here who need a home..... but if I had to pick a foreign country? ... I suppose it doesn't really matter... every country has it's problems and it's lost children..... I'm not sure why the country would matter unless you're picking for 'cuteness'. But I don't know a lot about the whole thing

I would adopt from Russia. There is such a need there.

Well, I think we would go with the USA. I would love to adopt a little one from China, they are so cute. It is kinda hard to "pick" though, depends on many different things for people however; there is a huge need for adoptions everywhere

we got our baby girl from Korea on June 22. She's 5 mos old now and it was the greatest process. Just about 7.5 mos and we brought her home. Quicker than any of my pregnancies and she's amazing. :tay: of course she's now in our snowball hopefully she'll be paid off in 3.5 years. :fdance:

I would go Romania, wait is shorter and rules are less strick then some of the countries. Especially when it comes to bring the kids home.

BUT I don't have a real preference, but I have heard wait is shorter and easier if you adpot from Romania.

Personally I would pick a baby girl from China...after having travelled there to only see how few lil girls there really are in that society. Its heart wrenching to think they used to kill off baby girls b/c the gov't only allowed ONE child per family.

And of course, most want a male to carry on the family name...blah blah blah!

In the future I do plan on having babies....one (ok maybe two) from my own body but I am going to definately be adopting my baby girl from China...Once I get my finances in order, Im going to start a savings fund now for her. Heck if I get her first before having my own kids that would be so swell!

I'm not sure why the country would matter unless you're picking for 'cuteness'. But I don't know a lot about the whole thing

The cost, wait time, and how well the child is cared for during the wait varies a great deal between the different countries. There is a lot more involved then just being cute. That is part of the preferences for one country over another.

Probably Haiti for me because I hope to travel there someday. We have frequent medical missions going there from our church.

We are limited to our options due to my husband's age. A couple from our church adopted an older sibling group from Russia and it fell apart in about a year. They now live with her parents. It was really sad, don't know exactly what happened.
I would love to adopt from China or Ghana. P.S. They still do kill infant girls in China in some of the more rural areas.

Probably Russia, or an Eastern European country. I guess though, when it boils down to it, wherever there is a need... which is pretty much everywhere.

not too sound like a nerd ~ but if I had the money, I would adopt from the grand ol' USA.... there are SO many children in foster care here, and once they hit the age of 6 - 8 , they are considered "speacil" which really just means noone is interested because they aren't infants!

so..... I would adopt 4 to 5, boys & girls, any race, from the U.S. if I could!
