Okay, last part of the challenge, ladies!

DRAWERS

I want you to go through all of your drawers and empty them out. Be ultra-critical and get rid of anything that is not absolutely necessary.

Been saving some extra plastic utensils that you got from a fast food place? Come on...toss them. Bunch of old straws? Out they go.

Got a Junk drawer? Well, the first thing I want you to do is re-name it. Find a specific purpose for it and re-name it that. The pen drawer...the battery drawer...etc. However, the name "junk drawer" in and of itself makes it an almost sure thing that you will fill it with...well...junk

Empty that junk drawer and rehome everything to where it really goes. Make a concentrated effort NOT to just toss stuff in that drawer. You don't NEED a junk drawer. Why would you be keeping junk? Doesn't make sense to me!

HORIZONTAL SURFACES

Clean them off. Seriously. Put everything where it goes. There is absolutely no reason for your counters to be full of stuff. Now that your cabinets are cleaned out, are there any appliances that you've been storing on your counters that you can now put away? I hope so! My KitchenAid stays on my counter, but I'm going to start putting my Cuisinart away because I don't use it on a regular basis as I do the KitchenAid.

Once you finish this part of the challenge, you are done. Congratulations! Kitchen complete!

Update:
No more junk drawer. I have replaced the junk with dish towels, pot holders.
It wasn't as bad as I thought, except for oldest dd collection of sea glass that fell out of a baggie.
I tossed a few items the rest belonged in my desk. Well, I won't talk about my desk, now that's a dissaster. lol

Thanks again Amy, these challenges have been great, and so rewarding. What is next? I can't wait....lol

By the way your foyer looks beautiful!

Great job, happymommy!

I'm not divulging the next part of the challenge, but I'll give you a hint...although you probably spend the most time there, you probably don't always see the clutter, because your eyes are usually shut while you're there! :D

I finished this one (finally!). The drawers weren't the challenge as much as the hutch I have, that was full of knick-knacks. Thinned them out, only kept stuff I really, really love. I do have a pile of stuff on the counter right now, to be put in the garage to wait until we have a garage sale, but at least it's going!!
