I have my paypal account linked to a very small checking account. So, I figure, in case of theft, the thieves wouldn't get much.

But I was talking to someone today. Her paypal account is protected by her password. BUT, it's connected to her main bank account where their paychecks go.

So, how safe is paypal?

Well paypal is pretty safe I've used it for YEARS BUT you have to watch out for those fraudulent emails going around.

I've never had a problem PayPal at all and I have it linked to my main checking account.

But yes, you have to watch out for those e-mails and for some reason, I've been getting a lot of them recently.

I've also been getting alot of them too lately.

The thing I look for is the link in the email they say to click... it should ALWAYS begin with https://www.paypal.com

So double check ALL links before putting in your email and password!

Never click on a link from paypal. A real paypal email will always tell you to log into their site to access new information. Same goes for ebay and any credit card companies.

I've never had a problem with paypal before. I currently have it linked to a checking account. I don't keep a lot of money in the account.

In addition to never clicking on email requests-

I have had a few bad situations with Paypal. If it weren't for my investigative nature- I would have been out a thousand dollars.
