About a month ago, we had a BAD week. We were in the middle of adopting a little girl. Our paperwork was messed up and the adoption fell through because they couldn't get it fixed in time. Within one week of that happening, DH's dad died suddenly. In fact, we found out we lost the baby on Friday, and he passed away that next Friday. This was toward the middle of February. We are now finally recovering from the trauma and moving on with our lives.

We have been trying to decide whether to even go on trying to adopt through DHS, as you can imagine, we were really, really, hurt by their mistake. So, we've been struggling with the decision to pull out and adopt later though a private agency (when we had the money). Finally, our adoption specialist contacted me Monday to let me know she was going to get back to work on our paperwork (she had been out for exploratory surgery since right after the mess up with the first baby). Immediatly, I knew its the right thing to do to persue adoption through DHS. I just keep thinking of these kids who need homes. I can't give up for that reason.

The best part of this is that I'm excited again! I'm surprised I'm ready to jump back in. I hope it works out better this time!!!

I'm so sorry about the adoption falling through. My db and dsil had that happen to them and they were devastated. Things did work out for them and they were able to adopt twice. Praying you can adopt soon.

Wow that's a lot for such a short period of time. I think you have a wonderful attitude regarding the adoption b/c I know there are so many children that need homes. ((())) Here's looking for a brighter future.

My sympathies on the loss of your DFIL.

I am so happy that you have decided to go ahead with the DHS adoption path. I just know that your precious son or daughter is out there just waiting to come home to his or her new Mommy and Daddy. You and your DH are in my thoughts and prayers for a quick and smooth adoption. :hugz:
