If any of you are hunting product information and the how-to's of painting formica countertops to look like granite:
Go to the Benjamin Moore paint site at http://www.benjaminmoore.com
Click on the site map
Then go to Great Ideas:
Project of the Month
Then click on past projects
The list is in alpahbetical order, look for
"Faux Granite Restores Kitchen Counters"
5 products are used. You sand and clean the counters. Then do a prep coat to make the other paints stick, then a base coat and while it is wet apply two additional colors with sea sponges to get the granite look. After this is dry, apply a final polyurethane coat to seal it. The finish is "fixable" later if burned or scratched.
Has anyone else tried this? Whose products did you use? Were you pleased with the results?:)
