There is a website www.grocerygame.com. If you join the site the cost is something like $10 every 8 or 12 weeks, I really don't remember. Since I work it is hard for me to find rock bottom prices so what this site does is tell you when to use your coupons so you get the best bang for the buck.

What I found was I don't shop enough to utilize the service....BUT....every week there is a Walgreen's list available for free. The first time I used it, I went to Walgreen's and my total was a little over $87 BEFORE coupons etc. I ended up paying around $42. I can highly recommend this.

Try it out and see if you like it!

Yes, I tried the grocerygame for their introductory period but didn't extend after that. I'm such a tightwad that I hate to pay someone for a service that I can very well do on my own! I also found that this game has coupons for a lot of junk food and cleaning supplies that we never eat or use. I'm really doing very well on my own. Coupons are a hobby of mine, so I spend a little time each week looking at ads for loss leaders and matching coupons to them. I will spend a little extra time in one grocery store here that doubles coupons up to and including a dollar. I slowly walk the aisles to see what is on sale and if I have a coupon to match. I've been very successful!

I tried it for the four week trial period. I can do just as well (or better) on my own. I save anywhere from 50-85% on my weekly grocery receipts.

I tried it but our sales go from wed to wed not sunday to sunday so it was more work to weed out last weeks sales and find just this weeks sales after my trial time is up i am cancleing i think i can do better on my own also

I used something similar called Grocery Advantage. It was o.k and it was helpful for deals like toothpaste or deoderant but most of the food is convenience/prepackaged food that we don't buy or eat. My mom loves it and still uses their program but I gave it up, at least for now.

I have tried to use coupons, but it just never works for me. I never find coupons for anything I buy. I shop at Sav-a-Lot and have cut my grocery bill quite a bit by just shopping carefully.

No don't use the grocery game, never heard of it. I mostly take time out to go through the ads on my own. Plus some of the stores have a website so theres more online to compare with what I need or can get close to free.

I have been doing the grocery game since early Feb. I have grown a pretty good stockpile of items...I am still monitoring my savings, but have done well overall. I am currently subscribed to 3 stores in my area...at first, I bought a bunch of stuff I would not normally buy, like fruit snacks and cookies. My kids went bonkers eating them...so I stopped buying those--even for a super price, they weren't worth it--no nutrition, and kids binge eating. I have gotten a lot pickier--it is easy to get "hooked" into the great deals, and go overboard. I have backed up and my goal now is to stay under budget, not just "get a deal." This has really started to help...I only spent $45 this week, and I got items like yogurt, whole wheat tortillas, juice, etc. I agree that you can probably do much of this on your own--a couple of things that really help me are that the folks that make the list filter out the "phantom" sales that are not really deals (i.e. some of my stores jack up the prices from week to week, and put the items BOGO), they also find sales and good prices that are not in the ad.

Since I work part-time (12 hr days), and have a part-time business, kids in sports, yada yada, it takes some of the stress off for me, because all the work scouring the ads is done for me. I can choose what I want off the list, print, and go. I am still trying to decide if I just want to keep one store list--I typically get a lot of good items at one store.

I think a coupon system and a price book are a great way to really pare down your grocery budget! I think you have to do what works for you and your life--this seems to be working well for me.:clown5: :gfish:
