I haven't noticed that any store around here does that. Do you have to specifically ask, or would it be posted on the door?

View Full Version : Which grocery stores typically double or triple your coupons? Sari 04-26-2006, 09:59 PM I haven't noticed that any store around here does that. Do you have to specifically ask, or would it be posted on the door? Lmullin 04-26-2006, 10:04 PM I live in Massachusetts and Stop and Shop, Roche Bros, Shaws, Star Market and I believe Hannaford all double coupons. S&S also has triple coupons in the flyer. So they will triple three of your own coupons. The places that do this advertise that they do it. QuilterMom 04-26-2006, 10:18 PM I'm not aware of any in the state of FL that do, although a couple of years ago I read online that there were some in the panhandle that did on occasion. LadyNada 04-26-2006, 10:36 PM Ok, I've always been sketchy on this term. Does that mean that if you have two coupons that say a product is $1.00 off they'll take $2.00 off? Or does that mean you can use the one coupon on two products? Or am I wrong? Sari 04-26-2006, 10:48 PM It means if you have a coupon for 50cents off a product, they'll double that and give you 1.00 off the product. dcompton 04-26-2006, 10:58 PM My best deal is Kroger. They triple through .39, double through .50. Our Brookshire's has stopped triples; They do double through .50, but I'm not sure if they will double more than one coupon for the same product. I don't know if Kroger has a limit on doubles, but I've done two or three for the same item (i.e. three coupons for three bags of rice, etc.) with no problem. Our stores will no longer accept computer generated coupons however, which I regret. There's been too much fraud with them apparently. LadyNada 04-26-2006, 11:04 PM Ooooh, excellent! I didn't know! I'll be asking about that from now on. :) pkellyc 04-26-2006, 11:22 PM Stop and Shop, Shop Rite, Shaws, Price Chopper just about all of them with the exception of Aldi's. Triple coupons are usually printed in the flyer and we only get a few of them. northernmom2boys 04-26-2006, 11:44 PM I dont think they double coupons in Ontario or Canada for that fact.Coupons are few and far between around here.Unless we go online to get a few or we get coupons from mail flyers. The grocery flyers we get each week do not contain coupons. Michelle Libby 04-26-2006, 11:48 PM I know Michelle, doesnt that IRK you at times? When we do get coupons its for $0.15 off something thats like $12. Woo! Something to write home about right? I know every bit counts but on a scale like ours, its easier to not use the coupons after all the effort we'd be putting in on a weekly basis trying to obtain them. :( Also, not as many freebies/samples for us up here either :lame: littlemotherhaywood 04-27-2006, 09:40 AM Giant Eagle and Tops both double coupons up to $.99 here, but they have a limit of four of one item so I can only double four of the same coupons at a time. Tops will run a special about every three weeks where they will triple coupons up to $.99 if you spend at least fifteen dollars. Well, those are usually the weeks their ad sucks and I don't need fifteen dollars worth of stuff to save four, kwim. dmvezina 04-27-2006, 12:22 PM I have a Market Basket, Hannaford, Shaw's and Shaw's is the only one that doubles coupons. Once in a while they'll triple them. freedeal 04-27-2006, 12:41 PM Harris Teeter doubles to .99 - they limit it to 20 coupons doubled per visit. BiLo doubles to .60 and they limit theirs to 6 for each item. Harris Teeter and BiLo have lots of B1G1 Free sales so with coupons doubled you can get a lot of free or nearly free food. Lorri 04-28-2006, 01:08 AM I get doubles daily and sometimes triples at Kroger and Marsh. Meijer will double up to .50 and anything .55 to 1.00 they give you a 1.00 for. mom2knk 04-28-2006, 01:41 AM We have Ralph's and Von's that double but with extreme limits! Ralph's only allows 2 same coupons per visit and Von's only allows 1. They double to $1. northernmom2boys 04-28-2006, 10:27 AM Shorty we should start some sort of protest we could call it FREE THE CANADIAN COUPONS LOL Michelle 04-28-2006, 10:35 AM I live in Massachusetts and Stop and Shop, Roche Bros, Shaws, Star Market and I believe Hannaford all double coupons. S&S also has triple coupons in the flyer. So they will triple three of your own coupons. The places that do this advertise that they do it. Hannaford doesn't, unfortunately. I wish they did because that's the closest store to me! AmyMCGS 04-28-2006, 11:58 AM Here in my corner of Ohio, Kroger and Meijer both double up to $.50 coupons daily. Once in a while Meijer advertises a special where they will double up to $1.00 coupons. Telephus44 04-30-2006, 04:05 PM Around here, Stop & Shop, Shaws, and Price Chopper all double up to $.99. Price Chopper usually has 6 "triple coupons" in their flyer, although not always. I have found that my Stop & Shop takes competitors coupons, so I always use the Price Chopper triples there. The Shaws here will put out home mailer flyers for $5/$50 that my Stop & Shop honors as well. Mamaw 04-30-2006, 06:36 PM In Penna, Giant Eagle doubles to 99 as does Friedmans and Shop and Save. Occasionally, Friedmans will offer a limited amount of triples or they will offer doubles to 2.00. Of course they limit you to 4 coupons total but you can make multiple trips if you want to Lorelei 05-01-2006, 09:49 AM We've lived in different areas, and I agree that the stores that double or triple coupons promote that they do. If you're not seeing ads for it, there probably aren't any where you are. staceyy 05-01-2006, 10:35 AM I live in Pittsburgh and Giant Eagle doubles up to 99 cents. They also own their own gas pumps and for every $50 you spend at their store you get 10 cents off per gallon of gas. We often get 30 cents to a dollar off per gallon. |
