I am calling them to cancel them as soon as it shows I have a zero balance on thier end! I have been wanting to pay them off for a while, but didn't seem like I was getting anywhere. DH got a surprise bonus check yesterday along with his regular paycheck. We talked about what to do with the check and the best idea was to pay off 2 cards! I have 2 more to go for a total of a little over $700. Hopefully I will get those paid off quickly. I hate CC's.
Last month I managed to pay off my clinic bill. I only owe on DH's now and will hopefully have it paid off soon too!
I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.:yippee: :cheer4:

This is just a thought!
Not sure why but I was told that when you cancel your credit card it actually hurts your credit rating. I was told to keep them but do not use them. Cut them up or freeze them in a container of water in the freezer so you will have them but it will just take work if you ever need them in an emergency. You may want to look up that information about your credit rating but I have heard it more than once. I think the last time was Suzie Ormon? not sure of her spelling.

Congratulations!!
I'm sure it feels good to have two cards totally done with!
I'm proud of you. I think I would cancel them to. If you have to many credit cards it will also hurt your credit score even if you don't use them. The bank sees it as you have the potential of spending up to your credit card limit, those extra cards can hurt if you try to purchase a house. And like Dave Ramsey says if you pay for everything with cash, you don't need cc.

:cheergrl: great job!!! i'd cancel them too once they've been documented (hard copy paper trail too). i'd rather have a lesser credit rating but not be open to credit card fraud or the potential to rack up the cards again.
but i'd keep just one in case of emergencies etc, ya know?
