I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this - mods, please move it if there's a more appropriate spot!

My MIL recently gave me a pair of maternity shorts that were white. This was only the second pair of maternity shorts I have - and summer's right around the corner. Well, I needed something red washed on Wednesday, and without thinking I threw these shorts in the same load. So now they're pink.:yucky:

Sooo.... I was thinking - I know that I can find dye in the grocery store - maybe I could dye them a darker color? Does anyone have any experience with this, or do you know of some "secret" the get the pink out? I just hate to throw them away, and I don't want to cut them up for rags, either. I've never dyed anything before and I know that I can't do it in my washer (we rent, and there are signs all over the laundry room telling us not to dye clothing in the washers).

Have you tried washing them with some Clorox bleach? If that fails, you could dye them a dark blue or something.

RID dye also makes a color remover--- you use it just like the dyes and it takes the color OUT of the cloth.

ouc an use a colour rmeover like they said. It's cheap and effective, or you can dye it another colour. The key is to use more dye and water than you think you should and stir it a lot. Same with the remover. The remover doesn't harm your clothes in the way that bleach does either.

You can get procion dye and dye them in a bucket. I've dyed lots in buckets and in the washing machine. :)

I have dyed clothes in my sink. I believe there are sink dying instructions on the bottle of RID dye.
