Good luck! How long will you have him for?

Kimberlina 09-03-2006, 07:26 PM What great news! Thanks for helping take care of our littlest ones who need loving families!
ktsmama 09-03-2006, 10:26 PM Good luck to you. It takes a good person to do what you do!
frugalbutterfly 09-03-2006, 11:23 PM That is wonderful news to hear! My dnephew was a crack/cocaine 12 week preemie@ 3.3lbs(not the smallest @ the time either). He now still has alot of issues(CP amongest other stuff). My parents are raising him but honestly not providing "therapies" needed for him to not be totally "disabled"(as in not able to function) or making excuses but not getting what is needed(if that makes sense).
It can be very trying at times dealing with an infant like that but look @ what they had to endure to get here and put up with! I think that is awesome to take in a childl like that and care and nuture them as they are surley going to need it and can have a positive experience and "normalcy"(SP) even, if, for a short amount of time, they deserve that!
My hat goes off to you and your dh for being so big hearted for the tinest little citizens!
staceyy 09-04-2006, 03:12 PM My mom used to take in foster babies. We would get so attached to the ones that were with us for a period of time, that it would be heart wrenching when it was time for them to leave. I can remember one baby in particular that came to us at the age of 3 months. He had been severely burned by his mother placing him on a hot radiator and he had been starved, so he was very thin and tiny. He stayed with us for about 6 months and was chubby and happy when he left. He however had an insatiable appetite, due to his having been starved. His appetite was not normal.
Best of luck to you. I commend you for what you are doing.
Goodwin17 09-04-2006, 05:32 PM WTG! You're awesome for taking in such a tiny life, and providing him with love and nurturing. Kudos, and wishing you the best of luck.
MirandaK 09-05-2006, 10:08 AM HOW WONDERFUL FOR YOU AND FOR THIS NEW BABY TO GO TO A PLACE WHERE HE WILL BE LOVED!
frugalfarmwife 09-05-2006, 11:59 AM Thank you so for being there for this little guy, I'm in awe of those that can give this way, you are truly a hero.
And as for this poor babies mother, I SO wish they would throw the book at people that do things like this to an innocent child, I think they should be charged with attempted murder!
Hug him and hold him close, let him know there are a LOT of us out here thinking good thoughts for him!
