DH and I are going to the Evansville, IN, live event on 10/14. I've read TMM and I'm reading Financial Peace now, and hubby is working his way through it (at a snail's pace :shrug2: ).
It's about a 5-1/2 hour drive each way, but I'm hoping it will be just the kick in the pants that we need to propel ourselves through BS #2. I also think it will help get DH on board with the TMM. He kind of goes along with it now because he can tell how excited I am, but I really want us to be equal partners in this.
Has anyone been to a live event that can share their experiences? Or is anyone planning on going to one of the upcoming events?

Amanda,
Dave was here in Louisville in May (I think, can't remember) & I worked the Live Event. Even though I didn't get to see the whole program, I loved it. There's pretty much the same information that you get from the books but seeing him live really gives you the kick that you need to want to run home & start tackling that debt.
Once I saw him in person, I knew I wanted to join FPU to continue my journey & it's been great. The brainwashing that we all get from the media & big business is really pointed out by him. Now, when I listen to & see ads for stuff, it just amazes me at the lengths that advertisers go to to make us want their products. This has been a very eye-opening experience for me.
I had thought about going to Evansville myself. I'm 2 hours from there. But in choosing between the Live Event & FPU, I went with FPU, I couldn't do both.
HTH...

I went last January, loved it! Will be going again this coming January and taking my daughter with me. It's definitely a kick in the pants, in a good way. You'll love it!!

that would be so awesome to be able to work the live event, that way you could be part of the experience but not have to pay for it! kind of like working concerts...

DH and I saw him in Grand Rapids last year. Hubby wasn't too thrilled about it (going to MI and the actual plan) but I convinced him to come along. Once he actually heard DR he was onboard, and now we are volunteering for the next event there in February. In his mind it was one thing for me to talk about the plan, but entirely different to hear it from DR.

Working a Live Event? Be prepared for a very long day. But it was SO worth it. I do plan to go again but as an observer. I want the experience of just sitting in the audience & relaxing.
The energy in the room is exciting. The bldg. we were in was huge, it was an arena. I hear that it's different in different types of buildings. A friend came to Louisville & went to another one that was in a church. He said the church setting was so much nicer. Also, our arena was kinda dingy (old bldg.). He suggested that I do go again to have a different experience. I agree.
