I decided to decorate the baby's room in a fairy decor. I am looking for help gathering some fairy sites, books, etc . (artists, info, images, ideas, and suggestions)
I'm not looking for anything grand. Just a small touch of fairy motif.
I'd like it to grow over the years, not all at once. Ideas can borderline elf like too.
I came across this site. This artist is so great. :)

When I was little-mind you this was the 70's-my mom had done a mural of fairies and elves hiding behind pretty little mushrooms that led up the stairs to my bedroom. It was fabulous since I was the only kid that had one. The stairs began in the kitchen where she had a canister set with mushrooms on it and that is what inspired the whole thing. She had also made all these little ceramic elves (cute ones that look like fairies without wings, not those evil troll looking garden gnome elves) that she had sitting in plants and on shelves, peeking out. I have one of them on my kitchen shelf-it has followed me to every house I've ever lived in. OK... rambling ..... sorry...

Sara,
Try copying and pasting some fairy pictures and decopauging them to items in the room. Here is a link to a fairy site with nice art work..... I'll try to find more later...

Find some Fairy images, copy and paste them to a print program, size them to what you want, print, glue to foam core, cut out, make a stand like you would for a paper doll. Tuck these in and around things (hiding like a fairy would )
If you have nice handwriting, find some fairy poems, stories or songs, write them on the walls with a calligraphy pen, even if you don't do calligraphy , the pen adds dimension to the text, practice on paper first. You can use paint pens too........
Try spraying a little of that glitter spray on the ceiling, just enough to shimmer a bit with the night light on........
Try using some of that iron on printable stuff, copy pictures of fairies and iron them on to plain pillow cases or blankets.... (put as many pictures as you can fit on the sheet before printing to save on sheets..)
Try incorporating the things that are associated with fairies... I don't know much about fairies but things like butterflies, flowers, ect....

I have a fairy book with sayings let me know if you would like some. I collect fairies and I have to say the best place to find them here is hospital gift shops. How about a little glitter on the walls in small areas.(fairy dust) I also a lot of fairy calendars you could frame the prints.
