My goal this month was to spend $50.00 or less on groceries...and I DID IT!:mdance: I worked hard and watched my spending, and really proved that I can do it while not eating so unhealthy. Here's some highlights for the month of what I bought and ate:
* 1 package of frozen stir fry veggies - good for three meals.
* All meat was in freezer already - no meat purchases in December.
* Rice and noodles were already on hand.
* 1 package of organic potatoes - 2 lb bag
* Tortillas - used to make sandwhichs/wraps/quesadillas and more.
* 1 hunk of sharp cheddar cheese - used for sandwhiches, wraps, quesadillas and macoroni and cheese.
* cereal/milk/eggs! :)
* fresh made bread from deli, yogurt
* lots of bananas and oranges and some apples for fruit (oranges are very cheap right now)
There you have it. One thing that helped is that I wasn't home from December 24th until December 27 for lunch, and that I'm leaving again from December 31 to January 2nd in the evening...so several days of eating is taken care of for me. I also received an entire bag full of groceries from my sister (stuff she bough but won't use) so that stuff is really my food for the week.
A bad thing about this month is that I did eat out way too much. I find that I don't figure in spending money and I just end up eating out way too much or something. So in January I'm going to give my self a miscelaneous spending limit.
In other news - I met my credit card challenge goal too, of $200 on my credit card. :) Next month my extra cash is going to pay for textbooks for college and my tuition bill...and unfortunately my tuition bill will have to mostly go onto my credit card :( Hopefully though, I'll keep getting a decent amount of extra cash next semester and be able to pay it off relatively quickly. Thankfully I have a very low interest rate.
I'm looking forward to another month of meeting ALL my goals! (instead of only most this month!)
P.S. I'm spending more than $50.00 on groceries in January
