we have gone 9 days with out spending any money (except for a few groceries and I don't count that in my no spend) and we have eating home all 9 days.

I guess I should explain for us this is a very very big deal. If this was last year at this time we would have most likely eating out at least 3 time by now and spent who knows what on things we don't need.

I guess I don't consider groceries spending because it comes out of my grocery budget and is something we need. I consider spending on things like magazines and things we don't need but want. Does that makes sense?

So how is everyone else doing on the no spend and eating at home? I am just so proud of us. We decided that this friday as a treat we are going to eat out before we goto the grocery store. That will be our treat for doing so well with this and we are proud of ourselves also. Dh is even taking snacks to lunch instead of going to the vending machine and getting something he does take lunch and I have been fixing things for my lunch around here. YEAH for us.

I just wanted to share we are so so proud of ourselves it is not funny!!

We, like you, are doing extremely well. The only money we have spent since the New Year was on milk, eggs, and bread. We ate out once, at Ruby Tuesday, but the in-laws paid for that. :) You're doing a great job, keep up the good work!

That is great. Eating out is our biggest problem and I want to conquer it. When my husband gets home from China that is one of our goals for the year.

thats awesome!! i also consider groceries that i buy before hand to make planned meals at home money seperate from my weekly alotted spending money.
on the plus side to doing your eating out treat on friday before you grocery shop is that you wont be hungry when you get to the store and you'll be even less tempted to buy things you dont need.

great job!!

Doing the happy dance for you! That is great that DH is on board with you too- makes it so much easier to keep focused when you guys work as a team.

We are doing pretty good. So far we haven't exceeded my paycheck (first time in months). I get paid Friday, bills are all caught up and I still have a little in the bank. A total 180 from this time last year!
