2. How many children do you have? How old are they?
Talley is 7 and a half (NEVER leave off the half part :laugh: ), and JT "Bubba" is 3 and a half.

3. Where do you live? Northeast Arkansas

4. How long have you homeschooled? Since preschool.

5. Why did you begin homeschooling? My sister and all my friends were doing it, so I thought I'd give it a try. Then I became convicted that God wants me to do it.

6. How would you describe how you homeschool? (unschooling, etc.) I give dd her workbooks and any special instructions, set ds up with blocks or drawing paper, then putter around the kitchen, helping out if needed. For curriculum, we use bits and pieces: A Beka, Rod and Staff, Alpha Omega, vintage readers and textbooks that I pick up at thrift stores, work books from Wal-Mart, etc. And we go to the library a lot.

7. Anything else you would like others to know? ANYONE can homeschool. You don't need a truckload of patience, you don't need a teaching certificate. All you need is, first and foremost, love for your child, the desire for them to have what's best for them, and the fervent wish to see them succeed at everything they try. :)

At first it was mostly due to our public schools being a disaster. Now we know that even the best public or private school cannot do better than we can with our children.

Mixture of Charlotte Mason and classical.

Don't think you are smart enough to homeschool? Where were YOU educated?

4. I have done home supplementing for about the last year.
5. Supplementing dd about a year. Doing homeschool pre-school for ds since 3.
6. Unit Studies - for dd we usually build around their subject in ss or lit. and build on that ourselves.
For ds, he picks and we go crazy at the library and read and see everything on whatever he's interested in at the moment.
7. DD is special needs so I don't feel a total homeschool environment would be beneficial at this time. She also really enjoys the extracurriculars at school.

I have had many disscouragment on Homeschooling DD but My DH and My mother-in-law are the only ones sticking by me .
