My family always had a party for every birthday up until a few years ago when everyone got too busy. I miss those days. My family, my aunt, uncle and 3 cousins, and my grandparents... we'd all go to the birthday-person's house for cake, ice cream, and gifts... and visiting of course.
Now only Tyler gets a party. :)

Do you celebrate birthdays with parties or get-togethers?

We had a private party I guess you would say for ds's 1st bday (just me, dh, ds, and the two dogs). For ds's 2nd bday we had a big party and invited lots of friends (no relatives close enough to drive here). For his 3rd bday we just invited one family over for pizza and cake - don't know what we'll do in the future.

For mine and dh's bdays we just have a special meal and cake at home.

we don't usually except for the kids. my hubby's family doesn't even buy gifts for each other. my family usually does, so when it is that time i usually feel awkward....cause i'm thinking hubby thinks i'm just spending money to be spending money. :(
but usually we only have parties for the little ones.:smball:
