We have a large amount of new members on FV, so I wanted a way for everyone to have an opportunity to get better acquainted.

This forum will be a place to locate other members that are like you.

Maybe you're wondering what other members have only boy children. Or how about who else has extreme allergies. Maybe you want to find other members with the same nationality or help finding others with similar childhoods.

This can be anything from who else was adopted to who else is extremely shy.

These will be ongoing threads so new and longstanding members can search through and easily locate others with similarities. I'm hoping this helps take away the newbie factor and also fosters new friendships.

Less lurkers...more happy members too. :D

*edited to add* If you don't fall under a kith, please don't comment to that particular thread.

Fair warning...jumping into a kith that you don't fall under or don't have an interest in learning more about will result in the deletion of the post.

As an example, if someone were to start a bfing kith, I do not want to see bottle feeding members chiming in with why they don't. They are welcome to start and search their own kith.

HTH

Think of it as a clan, guild, circle, group, tribe, troop, etc.

And for anyone else who doesn't know what "kith" means, it's "friends & acquaintances" ;)

I didn't feel so dumb when I saw that the word is categorized as "obsolete" :P

My buzzwords 2007= kith and eco frugality. :D

I'd like to create subcultures under the "frugal" culture here on FV.

Look how we met. :D

I didn't realize the word was considered obsolete. Guess I'll change that.
I feel an obligation to use it often now. rofl

I thought of something else. I hate when I do this AFTER I posted. :hurray:

I thought about members that post questions like (and this is just an example) Who else reads horror stories (looking for others) and all the replies are no I don't. Which makes the poster feel like gee thanks. lol

LOL maybe you can bring it back to life. If all FV members start using it in their daily lives, we can revive it

Hey, I learned something new today :D

Ah.... I read this post after I'd answered a thread with a "not me" kind of answer. Whoops. :shame:

I didn't know what a kith was, either, but now I do. :D Sounds like a fun new forum!
