View Full Version : coffee addicts kith
Sara Noel 02-12-2007, 06:05 PM I love coffee. I rarely go a day without at least half a cup. One of my favorite indulgences is flavored coffee.
Any other coffee lovers?
I'm embarrassed to say we burn through coffeemakers at the rate of about one maker per yr. lol
acidcookie 02-12-2007, 06:11 PM I love it too, but mostly for all that comes with it: relaxing, reading, coffee shops, big comfy chairs, good conversation, pastries ;)
I've never "needed" coffee on a daily basis and actually drink decaf at least half the time. At home I usually mix decaf with regular if I think I need the caffeine. I usually don't.
acidcookie 02-12-2007, 06:13 PM I actually stopped making my coffee in a coffee maker because it started to taste weird and instead of buying a new coffee maker I just bought a french press. I have much more control over its brewing this way. Seems to taste less acidic and fuller.
Sara Noel 02-12-2007, 06:23 PM I had a french press. I like it made that way (also had the bodum teapot) but with two of us over here drinking it, I need a larger pot. lol
I never really needed it in recent years, but now I know I do. I'd never make it on so few hours sleep without it.
Whenever I feel like I'm too dependent on it, I switch over to hot cocoa, but it's just not the same.
Coffee is a ritual over here.
SewCrafty 02-12-2007, 06:28 PM :wave2: Me! Me! Me! :D
Oh yeah, I am a coffee addict too. I still drink my 2-3 pots per day, but now mine is mostly decaf too. We also mix it ourselves, either 1/2 and 1/2 or 2/3 decaf to 1/3 regular. I also love hot tea and hot cocoa. Something about a hot drink I guess because I drink it even in our hot humid summers. :)
SewCrafty 02-12-2007, 06:31 PM I forgot to add that we perk ours on the stove in a glass pot. I do have a drip maker but only use it when company comes over and I need more than 1 pot will make at a time. We changed over many years ago when I lived in an apartment, the hard water destroyed (clogged the water line) all the time and just wouldn't come clean or drip anymore. So I bought a pot I could get my hand into to scrub it clean. Perked is so much better, you have to try it. You can control the strength this way too depending on how long you perk it.
I have never had coffee in a french press, I may just try that one day.
Sara Noel 02-12-2007, 08:00 PM I've always wanted one of the glass pyrex type perculators.
sarathom 02-12-2007, 08:04 PM Coffee addict here! I buy Kicking Horse (company in BC,Canada). It's organic and comes in a variety of blends.....my indulgence, my morning sanity saver!
Amanda W 02-12-2007, 08:27 PM I love coffee, but I only drink what my husband calls "frou frou" coffee (cappucino, lattes, etc.). Regular brewed coffee makes me gag. YankeeMom 02-12-2007, 08:30 PM Me too :wave2:
I know I'm addicted to it, if I don't have any coffee I have a raging migraine by noon. I have to have at least one cup, preferably two, to start my day. In the winter/colder months I may have one more cup in early afternoon. I am finding that I have to switch to decaf in the afternoons/evenings or it will keep me up all night long.
I love all kinds. Latte, cappuccino, espresso...mostly I just love a good cup of regular coffee. I like to try the flavored coffees. The only kind that I like is Dunkin Donuts. The other flavored stuff tastes ick to me. I prefer flavored creamers to flavored coffees.
We used to go through coffee pots too, until we invested in a Krups. Now we have that one and a Hamilton Beach Brewmaster. We are on our second Brewmaster in three years...the Krups has been going strong for nearly 10 years!
Mamaw 02-12-2007, 08:39 PM Lord yes! I work at home ( desk job all day) and go through a pot a day myself. I have taken to drinking half decaf and am trying to make the switch to all decaf. I also love flavored coffees and herbal flavored teas.
Lately I have been switching to tea in the late afternoon or evening to help me sleep a bit better. But there is nothing like a good hot cup of coffee to make the world right again!
Hollyhandi 02-12-2007, 09:32 PM Here too.
Been a coffee hound all my life. Dr put me on it at 9 months old to stimulate my heart.
No decaf here. I drink 10 cups a day of the good stuff.
Only flavored one I like is hazelnut
3-boys-4-me 02-12-2007, 09:37 PM Another coffee lover there too! I drink a pot every morning and then at night, once the boys are in bed, enjoy a Chocolate Mint mocha.
I too used to have to change coffee pots quicker then I did...well you know. :) Then I bought a Bunn. I LOVE IT!
i.m.cheap 02-12-2007, 09:44 PM Yes, I am a coffee addict. We drink the half decaf kind. I have a problem with a racing heart beat, so I can't have too much caffeine.
jamie79 02-12-2007, 10:29 PM I love my coffee in the morning. Dont like to start the day without it.
Dh is very addicted. He drinks two pots a day
Drgnfly423 02-12-2007, 11:29 PM I usually have one or two cups every morning. In the afternoon I'll have a cup of decaf! I'm trying to stop with caffiene all together, but I just can't make the total switch :)
miss_thrifty 02-12-2007, 11:41 PM I love putting cinnamon in my coffee perk. makes it really yummy!!!
Im more of a tea lover but fresh coffee grounds smell so good.
Marie78 02-13-2007, 02:10 AM I have always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. I have to have it everyday when I am working. I haven't been employed for the last 5 months, so it hasn't had a huge hold over my life, like it does when I work. At work I could go through a couple of travel size mugs a day (I prefer a flavored coffee). Here at home I have so much pent up energy, if I drink more than half a cup I can't fall asleep. I have been drinking either a half cup of coffee with lots of milk or a cup of hot chocolate each day. I just tried the white hot chocolate at Dunkin Donuts (with a gift card) and it was sooooo good :) Then I drink a cup or two of tea during the day. I always find myself needing a hot cup of tea, coffee, or cocoa with me during the cloder months. (that's 6-7 months out of the year here :) ) I noticed the last month that I worked I had to cut way back on both tea and coffee. I started getting a racing heart throughout the day. I blamed the amount of coffee at the time, but it could have been a panic attack too.
jkelstaten 02-13-2007, 03:04 AM Coffee drinker here. I drink it to help me ease into the morning. My girls know I'm "not available" for them to climb on until my coffee is gone....lol!
They don't have decaf coffee here (unless it's instant...yuck!) otherwise I would have switched to half/half when I found out I was preg.
IndyGirl 02-13-2007, 03:15 AM Wow I wonder what you all will think of me then...........I drink coffee from the time I get up until I go to sleep and DH does the same also 6+ pots a day
We go thru 2 large cans a week and it is fully "leaded" coffee.
Sometimes we will splerge and buy whole bean coffee I have a kitchenaid coffee mill, and a stainless Bunn coffee maker which is really nice it has no burner plate therefore my coffee does not get that burnt taste you get from a regular coffee maker. We have been drinking coffee this way many years.

TheRootedNomad 02-13-2007, 08:14 AM :coffee3: :coffee3: :coffee3: :coffee3: :coffee3:
Add me to the list. I go through the coffee makers at about one per year as well. I use to really watch the caffenine as I'm prone to urinary track infections. However, caffinated coffee wasn't even close to being the only thing that triggered them and have ended up with a routine perscription to take as needed to keep them at bay so now I drink as much as I want. (and since I've recently put down the nicotine I have NO intention of giving up the caffenine any time soon) I drink between 1 and 3 24 oz cups while at work. then if I have company in the evening or sometimes just for me I put some on. ..... I like some of the flavored stuff and lots of the flavored teas as well. I agree there's just something about a hot cup of something that keeps the stress at bay. I've also been known to heat up some milk and add honey....yum, yum. Coffee is generally my first choice though. ....and Miss Thrifty I agree I also frequently mix some cinnamin (SP) in while brewing.
AmyMCGS 02-13-2007, 08:58 AM I just wrote a long blog entry a few days ago about my current coffee addiction-- mocha!
http://www.villageblogger.com/cookingadventures/3231/My+Coffee+Addiction.html
I like regular coffee, too, but right now I'm on a major mocha kick. :)
justpeachy92 02-13-2007, 09:22 AM Coffee addict here. I have been known to stand in the coffee aisle at the grocery store to sniff the smell of fresh ground coffee. LOL And last month when we went out to dinner, we ran into target to get a couple of things and after paying for our purchases, our 2 yr old dd walked right into the starbucks that is at the front of the store. My dh looks at me and goes well I see where she is used to going when she goes to town with you. Silly girl giving up all my nonfrugal secrets. LOL Between my dh and I we average 4 to 5 pots at home everyday, generally I have on hand approx 5 different types of coffee.
frugalwanttobe 02-13-2007, 09:29 AM I love coffee!!! I like weak coffee except for Starbucks coffee brewed at my house with just cream....noooooooo sugar in it. yuck!!!!!!!! I used to like flavored coffee but now I don't. I do notice that my taste for coffee changes about every year or 2. I don't know why. The foods I like have not changed in years and years.....:coffee:
Sara Noel 02-13-2007, 09:38 AM How many scoops if using an automatic coffeemaker? :toothy: We mix ours 4 scoops to 12 cups of water.
Hey some of you guys are making me feel less of an addict. lmao
Sundae 02-13-2007, 09:40 AM :coffee: Just plain black for me! Every morning DH makes it and neighbor comes over at 6 am, granted he lives 4 miles away. I come down stairs, say good morning, grab my cup, pour and head to puter!
During the day once in awhile I like to have a flavored one and just relax or have it sitting on the counter as I clean house and snatch a sip as I go by.
How did I start drinking coffee??? I was about 27 ish, dated a man 11 yrs. older then me, he kinda teased me about not drinking coffee, he thought it would be nice mornings together sipping coffee, so when I went to work at 5 am I would stop by the local 7-11 get a cup, put a little hot chocolate in it, winged myself off the HC part and was hooked!! :mdance:
geckoace 02-13-2007, 02:14 PM I love my coffee and have been drinking it since elementary school LOL my Nan used to give it to us as a treat so we would leave her alone and she could watch her soaps LOL
i love french press coffee but stopped drinking it regularly because unfiltered coffee raises your LDL (bad cholesterol) and i had a higher than usual number last year so im back to coffee maker coffee except for special occasions. i have at least 2 a day in the am and then around 2pm
Laurie in Bradenton 02-13-2007, 06:03 PM Gee does having one Hamilton Beach Brewstation on the counter and a Mr. Coffee 12 cuper in the garage just incase, a prex glass perker on the stove and a Mr. Coffee 4 cuper in our travelcase and 3 Large cans of Maxwell house in the pantry fit the addict bill. Or do I also have to mention the 2 - 24 oz mugs I have before I leave in the morning with my thermos in hand put me over the edge. Dh just started the evening pot. And of course the only way to drink it is the way my navy daddy taught me strong, hot and black. So when you put a spoon in it stands straight up.
Laurie (awake) in Bradenton
acidcookie 02-13-2007, 06:28 PM Wow, I drink nowhere near the amount of most you ladies. In fact, I don't drink it THAT much at all, I just love the taste and aroma and all that. I drink, on average, a cup every other day.
getnrichslowly 02-13-2007, 08:36 PM I go through morning drink phases.
Sometimes it's half coffee/half milk or awake tea or diet mtn. dew.
lately it's been coffee mixed with hot chocolate
regardless, some kind of caffeine goes into my body before I enter a room of 21 6 years olds.
suesue 02-13-2007, 09:05 PM Y'all are making me drool!!!! I love coffee, too. I didn't drink it in the summer, because it's so hot here. But last summer I started making iced lattes and now I can enjoy coffee all year long!!!!
But I'm doing a cleanse right now and am off of coffee for 10 days. It's hard!!!! Especially since it's so cold outside right now. I think if I ever do a cleanse/detox again, I'll do it in the summer!!!!
suesue
IntlMom 02-14-2007, 12:16 AM Another coffee drinker here! It's actually 10 pm and I am drinking the stuff! No decaf here ~ it's the real deal....I don;t like the taste of decaf. It doens't keep me awake......might keep me on the potty though!! :)
:toilet:
MarshHen 02-14-2007, 12:44 PM Oh yeah, I love my coffee every morning. I also have to have my flavored CoffeeMate since hubby won't drink flavored coffee. Makes no difference to me whether it's decaf or not, but hubby says he has to have regular coffee to get him going. I could drink a whole pot of regular coffee and sleep like a baby. I drink two large (24 oz.) cups every morning, but we usually don't drink it in the evenings unless we have company or we have breakfast type food for supper, and then I have to have coffee.
We do 3 full scoops to 12 cups of water in our coffeemaker. Hubby was just saying this morning that it's time for a new one since the ours we is 10 years old and it's getting slow. DH said he will put the old one in his shop.
mythreesons2004 02-15-2007, 02:21 AM mmmmmm Coffee! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/MomofSweetPotatoes/graemilins/coffee.gif
Can't get enough of it. I really love pressed or perked. Brewed is ok, but the water has to be the right temp.
Backtoreality 02-15-2007, 10:21 AM I was reading y'all post with my coffee mug in hand - giggling.
I started drinking coffee - any kind - when at 24 I had 2 full time jobs for about 6 months. Worked 8-5, then turned around and worked 11-7 for 5 days a week for 6 months. Now - I love the taste. I usually have 2 big cups in the morning and one in the afternoon. Then switch to tea after 5.
My DH doesn't like coffee or tea. But he is my supplier - for Valentine's Day he bought me a pound of "foo foo" coffee! Love that man of mine!
GMA21 02-15-2007, 04:49 PM :coffee3: here please :wave2: :D I gotta have my morning coffee otherwise I feel like I'm missing somethng  :lol3:
baxjul 02-15-2007, 06:36 PM Me! I need my coffee everyday! The more the better. I have my own secret stash of Starbucks that I don't share with anyone!
I just saw this post, and I had to go get the cup of coffee I left upstairs in the kitchen. I love coffee, and have about 2 or 3 cups in the morning before I go to work. I started drinking coffee as a kid. It was always available in the morning, my mother used to put at least 3/4 hot milk and a llittle sugar.
Both my ds drank coffee at young teens. I do like starbucks, but work closer to a seattles best. They make a pretty good cup. At home I have a krups drip pot with an expresso maker, a french press, and a old fashioned top of the stove perk pot. That perk pot was given to me by my mother and is about as old as me. The perk pot makes the best coffee. But it only makes about 4 cups. The mugs that I use hold about as much as a venti starbucks. I also like my coffee with milk and no sugar. I guess I drink about 6 cups a day. It has no effect on me I could drink a pot and still sleep
IndyGirl 02-16-2007, 11:57 PM I was just wondering.........How much does coffee cost where some of you live? I was wondering if it was about the same everywhere or different $.
Where I live depends on what type
Large Cans :Foldgers $9.97, Maxwellhouse $9.99, Store Brands range $3.99 to 7.99
Large bag 2lbs 7oz Bean Coffee: Milstone $17.82, Starbucks $16.00 and up 8'oclock $10.87, Foldgers $12.00
I have a really bad habit of stockpiling things that we use when they go on sale..............Well a month ago I was at Sam's club here where we live and they had there maxwellhouse coffee on sale for $3.99 a can (large can) and I bought 18 cans, so my Dh say's honey why do we need 24 cans of coffee?
And I just laughed at him..................I never buy coffee unless it is on sale.
nwmissourigal 02-18-2007, 12:51 AM I am also a coffee hound. I drink a pot of coffee before I go to work...bad habit I know. I love flavored coffee. Especially the ones from Hawaii. I love the Kona blend coffee. My favorite is the coconut coffee. It's wonderful. I usually drink my coffee black, but I do keep flavored creamers on hand just for something different. This year I found a peppermint mocha creamer..it was so yummy!! It was really good in hot chocolate too. Gosh I need a cup of coffee right now....LOL...Blessings..kathy
prairie_girl 02-19-2007, 12:18 PM Coffee addict here! I usually start the morning with a Tim Horton's (not the same if I don't) and then maybe have a cup of work coffee at first break. During the day when I'm home I'll drink a pot. And I will often call home and ask :smooch: to put on a pot of decaf as I'm leaving work so it's ready when I get home.
I buy the Presidents Choice brand right now, but I prefer Kicking Horse three sisters blend. Oh! And its ALWAYS whole beans.
GMA21 02-20-2007, 03:22 PM Where I live a large can of Folgers is $8.99, Maxwell House is $5.99, Starbucks is $8.99 & Seattle's Best is 8.75

frugalwanttobe 02-28-2007, 03:05 PM I broke my coffee pot today. I was cleaning it to make it look nice and shiny and smash.:( I ran to Target within 15 minutes because :coffee3: is too important at this house. :weeping:
I have to have my coffee before the girls wake up or I cant even talk to them. Dh gets up before me and makes it. We put 4 scoops to a 12 cup.
I just bought and esspresso maker at goodwill , it was new in the box but the instructions are missing and I cant find the company on the net. IT makes two at a time. I want to get a french press. Now I want to go and buy facy coffe stuff!:morning: :coffee3:
Nantahala 03-23-2007, 09:37 PM Yep. I love lots of coffee and really good coffee too. :D
I have at least two cups in the morning and when I am working, I take a coffee break around 3 PM.
My favorite is Costa Rican or Mexican light roasts but a Blue Batak medium roast is love too. :morning:
Lady_V 03-23-2007, 10:05 PM [QUOTE=Sara Noel;675771]I love coffee. I rarely go a day without at least half a cup. One of my favorite indulgences is flavored coffee.
/QUOTE]
HALF a cup?? Half???? :coffee: I have already downed half a POT before I get my second eye open!!!!! DF and I both LOVE... (and not that playful flirt some of you do compared to us) coffee.... we have several types of coffee in the house at all times... We also have the reg. pot, the espresso machine, and of course the expensive single serve pot... Sometimes I wonder what we have more of... coffee... or blood... running in our veins!!!!!
kuntrylace 03-27-2007, 06:23 PM I love my coffee, I have at least 2 cups in the morning, and several through out the day. I love coffeemate...lol. I started using that in place of milk and love the difference.
cebsme 03-27-2007, 06:30 PM Yep i love my coffee im a 2 pot a day person if not more. Very bad for me lol. But ive at least gotten out of the habit of going to starbucks 3-4 times a day. Making it myself is much cheaper.
RJsGrl 03-28-2007, 03:28 AM :morning: I love Folgers... I do 6 heaping scoops for a 12 cup pot. I tried MaxwelHouse and it just tastes watered down no matter how many scoops I used! Good ol Folgers. I've also had to steer clear of Starbucks, too expensive! WalMart has a good creamer called "GreatValue Extra Rich Creamer" in a black and brown container... REALLY GOOD, you don't need to use as much as regular creamers, so it goes a long way :lol3:
TheRootedNomad 03-28-2007, 08:58 AM IndyGirl- I don't generally buy the big cans because I like the whole beans if I can afford them and/or I can generally get a better deal on the smaller cans with coupons.
:morning: Folgers is a frequent buy. The small cans get run on sale for about 2.29 to 2.89 and with a double .50 cent (or if I'm lucky a triple0 coupon) it's usually one of the most reasonable.
:morning: The folgers bagged coffee (not the new flavors) or the eight o'clock bagged I can usually find for 2.99. I like the Columbian and the Hazelnut best.
:morning: Now I'm gonna give Kroger a plug - their regular store brand cans are really good coffee, they make several types including but not limited to french roast, italian roast, decaf, half-caf, columbian, and breakfast blend. They run really good sales frequently. I don't shop on a frequent basis at kroger anymore because I get better meat and produce at Meijer, but when I'm in there I never seem to escape without coffee of some sort. The small cans use to run all the time 4/5.00 but over the last few months i think the lowest I've seen them has been 1.59 and the big cans for 3.99. Now here's the best part of the plug. They have a coffee club and if you send 5 proofs of purchase to the address on the can they send you a coupon for a free can of coffee!!!! I almost always buy the small cans here because the coupon is only good for a small can no matter which proof of purchases you sent in. Their private selection brand isn't included.
That being said:
:morning: I love the Kroger Brand Private Sections (especially "Jamacian Me Crazy" flavor. They run the bag on sale frequently for 5.79. I only buy this occassionally as a special treat)
That all being said there are usually several "coffees" in my house ranging from the expensive - ($6 to $8 a pound) to be savored :morning: , the good (and yet much cheaper) from free to $3 a pound which is consumed in vast quantities :coffee3:, and the flavored .
Katybird 03-28-2007, 10:56 AM I love coffee. I make an 8 cup pot at the beginning of my day (this could be 7 in the morning if I am off or 4 in the afternoon if I am working that night) I normally have the entire pot by the time I am showered and dressed and have my hair and make up done. I sometimes make another pot in the evening for an after dinner cup or two or three...:) .
DH does not care for coffee so since it is only me, I always buy Folgers, I don't care for Maxwell House at all. The food service at my employer only stocks our floors with Maxwell House so I don't usually drink coffee at work anymore unless I have brought my own.
cdmom 03-28-2007, 11:38 PM We love coffee! I found a 12 cup Cuisinart coffee maker with a stainless
steel carafe at the Goodwill for 8.99! Dh makes coffee at 4am and the
coffee is still pipping hot at 4pm without a burned taste b/c there is no
burner. I priced this maker online and it sells for $99.99. What a bargain for
me!!
green5acres 03-28-2007, 11:48 PM If you have leftover coffee from the morning try this. Vanilla syrup -Lots of ice -coffee -and lots of light cream, Yummy! thank God I am not watching my weight or I would be big as a house ,I drink lots of this in the warmer weather.
deeinflorida 03-30-2007, 08:19 PM I don't know what I'd do without my coffee!!! WOW I saw a show on HGTV where they were using French presses for tea but didn't know they could be used for coffee too? I also was fortunate enough to receive a Krups coffee maker a few years back as a gift and it's still going strong!
I'm not much for most flavored coffees but I love bittersweet chocolate and coffee together! YUMM...
Funny someone mentioned the percolators...made me think about days as a child when my mom would have the old green plastic perk coffeemaker...it made a ton of noise!! But the thought of that noise now seems so comforting (smile).
Dee
mkp_athome 04-03-2007, 06:15 PM My kids say I bleed java. LOL
I drink about ten cups of decaf a day. No sugar or cream. I have been drinking coffee as long as I can remember. I could never stand the taste of milk, so my mother always let me have coffee for breakfast.
Ceashels 04-07-2007, 10:13 AM I like the flavored coffees. We have a local roaster and they have a wonderful selection. I prefer mine at a 60:40 ratio to milk with splenda... so my spouse doesn't consider me a coffee drinker at all. LOL. When I remember, I preprogram the machine to brew at 5:30am and it is ready for us when we climb out of bed. Mmmmmm Snicker Snicker!!!
nwmissourigal 04-13-2007, 10:46 PM I love coffee too. I like to buy different flavored coffees and when I set up my coffee pot, I use folgers and put a little flavored coffee on top. Gives it a nice little kick..sometimes I use flavored cream in my coffee...there is a new out called coconut creme...you gotta try it...it's wonderful....Blessings..Kathy
MidgeMommy 04-16-2007, 07:18 AM Coffee is both a comfort thing and a culture thing; I love the bonding that can happen over coffee, which doesn't involve me feeling inept about my cooking skills! Definitely a french press lover, as well, prefer it even to percolators. And my fam used to go through coffee makers once a year, too! However, percolators and french presses last much longer. We have a camping percolator that gets used whenever we have company or go camping, and it's been going strong since it was my grandfather's.
TheRootedNomad 04-16-2007, 09:10 AM [QUOTE=MidgeMommy;699755]Coffee is both a comfort thing and a culture thing; I love the bonding that can happen over coffee,[QUOTE]
Gotta say I hadn't really given the cultural connection any kudos in this thread. Thank-you for bringing it up as coffe definately has cultural connections for me too. At family gatherings coffee was always put on after dinner was cleaned up. The grown-ups would sit with coffee and dessert at the table (usually brought by the guests) and the kids would snag dessert and milk. The coffee and conversation would flow for hours. Sunday mornings after church were much the same. Mom and us kids would bring back rolls and/or bagels and we go staright into nana and popa's (downstairs) when we got back and have them buttered up with coffee and the paper. Sunday mornings even young I would generally be allowed a cup. I'd butter up a roll, squish it down and dunk away. I'm sure it sound awful if you've never tried it but hard rolls to dunk in my coffee are one of the things I miss about living in NY. ..... Lots of good family memories tied with my coffee addiction.
jlaporte 04-18-2007, 02:11 PM sars: omg!!! so do we. we have used up 3 coffee makers last yr. so far only 1 this year. i know for us the higher ends do not last. i picked this one up at walgreen and it is still going. very simple plain machine. we make and drink at least 5 or more pots a day!!i take mine with a smidge of cream only hubby balck w/ sugar. i stoped using sugar to save money!! lol. how fugal is that!and my coffee always generic unless the gig tubs of folgers is on sale. no name brands in my house.
Jskell911 07-08-2007, 10:08 PM I am a bonafide coffee addict. We burnn through 3 pots a day here. I actually bring a thermos of it with me to work, because I drink so much it would be too expensive to buy it there!
kittykatstrong 07-09-2007, 10:17 AM I looove coffee. I don't drink it as much as I did before I got preg. mostly because I breastfeed and my DH doesn't want me to. But I sneak it in when ever possible.

cab54 07-12-2007, 11:36 PM Coffee. Mmmmmm. :coffee:
I've been hooked since 1968 (age 14).
Since about my early 30's it's gotten harder and harder to drink it after about 3 PM, since it interferes with my sleep. Once upon a time, though, I could drink it right up until I went to bed. Ahhh, those were the days...........
I'm down to about 4-5 cups a day. And almost never after 3-4 pm. Darn.
Mamaof2rugrats 10-24-2007, 01:28 PM I have terrible insomnia issues that I've always had so coffee is the only way I get through the day. I usually stay up until 3-4ish in the morning and wake up at 5 am so sleep is in short order around here.
I usually drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day- with lots of added sugar and milk.
I also love all the specialty coffees like lattes or frappuccinos but those just aren't affordable as an everyday thing.
Jaded 10-25-2007, 03:27 PM Just call me Lorelai...(Gilmore girls). Can't live without it. Tried to, didn't like it. I have cut way back, but a day without coffee is a day without sunshine to me.
paintedsky 10-30-2007, 11:36 PM Going to college and work I've gotten hooked on coffee! The caffeine helps keep me awake. It's been very gradual and now I'm finding myself have at least a cup of day. I do have to limit it though because I'm prone to infections so I hope to have the doctor put me on something so I can drink to my hearts content :) At first when I started drinking I noticed myself getting really dehydrated (on only one cup) and acne and weird side affects though which deterred me but now I think I conditioned myself to be able to drink coffee. Everything from dunkin donuts to macdonalds coffee. Starbucks is way too expensive for me though for a daily thing. When I'm at home I like flavored coffees and I love the foldgers flavored gourmet like the vanilla biscotti. It's my recent addiction.
wulong32 10-30-2007, 11:54 PM I'm spoiled. I work at Borders, so I get all the free Seattle's Best coffee I want! It drives me crazy to see my coworkers go next door to Starbucks every day, sometimes twice a day, and spend $5 a pop for a specialty drink. Who in there right mind would do that?

We have a coffee shop with Seattle's Best in our plaza. I love their coffee. Starbucks coffee will burn your insides out, it's so acidy! I hate it!
cissylu 03-15-2008, 12:15 AM gotta have my coffee every mornin
ballylarkin 03-16-2008, 01:39 PM I make coffee in my french press every morning, except for Sunday's when we go out for coffee....a tradition for us.
I can drink my coffee w/o sweetener and I don't need cream, but a little skim milk is good. I do the flavored cappuccinos in my cup + coffee sometimes, too.
I love Starbucks but keep it at a minimum because of cost. I also love Dunkin' Donuts and Caribou...
PrairieRose 03-16-2008, 02:19 PM I'm ready to officially join the crazy coffee lovers club. Man, this stuff is addictive. I can't believe that I was 47 years old before I began to truly appreciate it.
Missourimom 03-16-2008, 03:36 PM Oh, I definiately belong in this kith. Me and my BUNN coffeepot are best friends. :)
luv-my-lexi 03-17-2008, 12:06 PM Add me in on this. I have to have my Carnation Fat Free hazelnut creamer in mine!! Then I down quite a few cups throughout the day. Yum!! :coffee:
coffeechick 03-17-2008, 11:06 PM My closest relationship is with Mr. Coffee. And he's always hot for me... :hubba: At least as long as I plug the darn thing in.
I have a few different kinds: regular, regular decaf, and a flavored kind. I rarely go out for coffee because I like my own. Sweetener and a little skim milk.
