Were they passed down from generation to generation or did you pick them up at antique stores/yard sales. Are they something you'd like to pass down to your kids?

I have a butter dish that was my grandmothers, but I don't use it, as I don't want it to get broken. I also have some wine glasses that were my other grandmothers, and I don't use them either, as I don't want them broken. I really do not have anything else of my grandparents or even my parents.

I do have three quilts that my grandmother made. I keep them packed away. I want to give one to each granddaughter but, only have three quilts and four granddaughters. Going to have to figure that one out! Almost my entire home is antiques. I really love old things. Used to have an antique business of my own. My children never cared for all of my old things but, luckily, the granddaughters really enjoy them. I hope to hand everything down to them.:angel: :angel: :angel: :angel:

We have a rocking chair that is very old that was DH paternal grandmother's. We also have a rolltop desk (weighs a ton!) that was DH's paternal grandfather's. We have lots of china, cyrstal and Depression glass that came from both sides of the family as well as some old pictures and paintings. I doubt anything is worth much but we wouldn't part with them for anything!

I love antiques and glassware. Everything of this sort that I own I've had since I was in high school. I don't have the money or time to go antiquing anymore.

I have a china cabinet that was my grandmother's. It's going on 100 years old and is in excellent condition (even after 4 moves).

I have a piece of furniture (table with 2 drawers on top and 2 pull down doors on the bottom) that was made between 1890-1910, according to an antique expert. I wonder if it is worth anything monetary-wise? It's not like I would sell it or anything, but I always wondered. This was my grandmother's.

I have 3 more tables that were my grandmother's, but I've no idea if they are antiques or not. They look quite old and antiquish, though.

I also have a chair that looks antiquish, but I have no clue if it is or not. That came from a garage sale.

I have 3 full china cabinets full of dishes bought at various places (china, depression glass - sets, various bowls, serving platters, etc. ) I had so much fun finding and buying all this (in high school, maybe late jr. high). I miss looking and buying!

I have an oil lamp that belonged to one of my grandfathers. I have no idea how old it is, but I remember it from my childhood. I don't use it, but have it displayed up on one of my plant shelves in my dining room.

I have a corner hutch and a side board that was my grandparents and it is so special to me, because they meant a lot to my grandmother and she was the one who raised us so she was like a mother to me... I have more of their stuff BUT those especially the corner hutch are so special to me, I think about them and miss them when ever I see it, which is often since they are in my diningroom....

as to pass things down I don't know who will get the hutch and/or other furniture and if they would want it but I do plan to passd own all my nice jerwerly my husband has given me over the years to my kids when I go..

I don't own too many vintage items. I do have quite a few collectibles though. I purchased them all at estate sales or flea markets etc. My favorite is my art deco clock. I'll take a picture of it and post it. Much of my "fine things" got sold on ebay when we needed extra money and much of it also magically disappeared from storage at our family's cottage. :(
I have a quilt partially done that my grandmother made. It's one of my dreams to complete it.
I also own a few nice all occasion tables, dining table, and a hutch, but they are deco to depression era.

I have: My Granny's china and glassware to match. They aren't really valuable, as they are grocery store china but they are old. I've got my other Granny's silver and pressure canner (we can't get the lid off!). I have several quilts from Granny #1 and my Granny #2's wedding ring. I will be handing these things down to dk's someday.

I also have from garage sales, junk stores, etc., some really cool old stuff. I've got a neat "smoking stand" that I use as a sofa table, several old lamps, a really nice, swirly brass bed (in dd's room, pd. $100 for about 15 yrs. ago-see new ones like it for $500-800), an iron bed (in what was ds's room-re-did a while back, it's white with a handmade quilt on it), a nice table from Granny #2, a couple of cross stitched samplers, baskets, oil lamps, crocks, a grandmother's clock that came from Granny #1's house but was a hand me down from an uncle-not very valuable but I really love it. I bought a nice armoire about 12 yr.s ago that I use for storage and I also have a nice secretary that was given to me by a df and an antique fireplace mantle (oak w/beveled mirror-had a fireplace built just for it). I use 99% of the antiques that we have and I love em all.

all of my old stuff is at my parents, (Not just them) but everything that has been given to me that i want to pass on to my children including the chest my grandfather made that i am giving to my daughter for her 16th bday in feb.
