This weekend DH and I stayed in the Carson City/Reno area for a family wedding and our 38th wedding anniversary. The wedding wasn't till four on Saturday so, we spent the morning at the yard sales and thrift shops. It was tough because we really had no idea where anything was but, we did really well anyway. I got lots of really cute clothes for the granddaughters, some craft supplies, and even an entire box of skate boarding magazines for one of our nephews. We had a ball.:smball: Does anyone else enjoy going to the yard sales or thrift shops when they are away from home?

you bet i do. i yard saled with my mum when i was in maine a couple of weeks ago. It was something we did every saturday morning on the way to work. But i always live in small towns so i have to go out of town to find anything. It is so much fun.

Absolutely. Wouldn't miss a yard sale when I'm travelling. Those are the most fun. Also don't miss an antique store either.

DH and I do this too. Can't waste a good Saturday morning!

I went to thrift shops while I was visiting my hometown this summer. I can't imagine spending a good amount of time in another city and not seeking out some thrift shops or yard sales. :)

While Dh and I were away this past week I wanted to go to the thrift stores sooooooo badly...! We kept driving by them and I kept inwardly sighing......dh HATES them... makes him feel poor or something.............I kept thinking now if I see a good garage sale I'm gonna have a fit! Oh well, I'll go again soon.....(sigh). :(

We took the kids this summer to California, we went to a local thrift store just to look around and found the greatest t-shirts. All in good shape for next to nothing, Disney for both, rainforest Cafe for ds, Pasadena (The town I grew up in) T-shirts for both kids and 1 for me. and 2 LA Lakers shirt for kids, great finds and they wore their shirts when we went to Disneyland and Rainforest Cafe. I would have never spent the $ to buy all these shirts new. My kids are such "Frugal People" they don't mind at all.
