Have you ever thought of living off grid, having no electricity, using other means to supply their needs such as windmills, generators, propane lights, etc.

Has urban homesteaders, this is one area we've not thought of. First I want my sewing machine to be able to work properly and when I want it and dh would never do it because of his workshop.

Many homesteaders are doing it though and still use all their appliances and computers.

Have you ever thought about it.

Yes, when I was 20 years old, I had a dream to live in the woods a very simple life...:) but today I couldn't do that! I love the computor, I enjoy tv. to relax sometimes at night, I listen to my music during the day...etc..but I do try to save on electricity whenever I can...like dinner in candle lights.:)

Yeah, like Lucie, when I was 20 or so , I had a dream of living in a cabin in the woods.I dreamed of no electricity, raising my own food, etc. Now, I still long for the cabin in the woods, but *with* elec.: Well, actually I have the cabin in the country, I just wish I had more woods.
