I love Nickelback the most (not really metal but hard rock) My husband thinks I'm crazy, but my kids friends think I'm cool lol

I listen to any music, but I totally love AC/DC and Ratt, lol

MUSIC!!!! DF loves King Diamond, and has seen him and/or Mercyful Fate MANY times... there isn't a day in this house where I don't hear it... DD no longer runs out of the room in fear of the 'monster behind Daddy's desk' :lol:
I am a radio dj and I get requests ranging between Tiny Tim singing Stairway to Heaven... to 3 Days Grace ... to Cradle of Filth... I listen to all genre's but I have to admit... I can't listen to Tiny Tims verbal pelvic thrusts with a straight face

I listen to almost anything as music is an outlet for me. I'm not great with remebering who sings what in the newer music scene but was labeled a burn-out/metal-head in my day. Which was always kinda funny since I was a non-drug taking honors student. I just hung with people who weren't the snobs in my classes .... and I didn't take any crap.I find hard-rock/metal music a great motivational tool. Among my favorites are Metallica (the older stuff such as Master of Puppets and the Black album), RATT ( I hear ya on this one Tracy), Judas Priest, WASP (Wild Child always takes me back), DIO, Guns-n-Roses, Black Sabbath, Vixen, and so on. Tantric was a group on the order of Nickelback that originated here a few years back that I thought was really gonna take off but have only done one album that I know of.

Another 39 year old metal head here. Ozzy / Black Sabbath is my fave, and always has been, but I surely can't get enough AC/DC, Metallica, Ratt, Wasp and all the 80's hair metal bands. Especially Skid Row. Sebastian Bach was HOT.

LOVE Lamb of God. They are amazing! I'm actually going to see them the end of this month. "Now you've got some..." Is my favorite.

We have a great metal/death metal/hardcore local scene here, so it's easy to be a metal-head. ha ha.

I guess I am the oldest of the bunch here...LOL I guess more of the older metal, but always liked AC/DC, saw them when Bon Scott was still lead singer, Def Leperd, saw them before the drummer lost his arm, and so many other bands I liked. I have heard a few of the newer bands lately on the radio, my DD 13 is a big metal fan, and some of them sound pretty good. Just don't know who they are any more.
I also liked the Scorpians.

I like some but don't like when they scream at the top of their lungs at me. :toothy:

42 year old metal-head! Adore Skid Row ( Rachel Bolan...mmmmmMMM!), Judas Priest, very early Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath (Ozzie years), Motorhead, Pantera.

Other faves not entirely metal: Alice Cooper (my #1 since forever), KISS (the early stuff), Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Wendy O Williams, early Clash, Guns and Roses (original lineup), Jane's Addiction, Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground, and the list goes on and on.

I would love to go to Ozzfest and see Lamb of God---so would hubby. But, he'll be deployed and I won't go alone.

Oh my, I had almost forgotten about Twisted Sister. Dee Schnider(sp) used to go to the same Dunkin Donuts we went to when I was growing up on Long Island. I remeber mom always looking at him kinda funny. I think he designs toys now.

I was a candystriper at a nursing home as a young teenager (and the kitchen guys were hot!!!!) Anyway, one guy (Ray Callahan) never worked the weekends supposedly because he was one of the drummers for Wendy O Williams. A group of my friends and I snuck out to see them play one night and couldn't get in because it was "adult themed"???? Of coarse this sparked curiosity and we had to find a way to peak in. LOL ... Couldn't tell from where we were if Ray was really on stage or not and we got bored pretty quick since we couldn't see much.

Smart woman!! I LOVE 30 Seconds to Mars(Jared Leto has a killer voice) and Atreyu as well. Nickelback is good, altho I def dont consider them metal, like you said. That lead singer of theirs needs a haircut for sure ;)

Also, I LOVE Marilyn Manson. He's a bit freakish, but when I'm running, and Beautiful People comes on, man, I run faster :D I went to Ozzfest the year he was on, 2003, and I went to the show at Darien Lake in Rochester NY, and they wouldnt let him play. Because you see, it's a "Family Oriented" theme park. Yet the infamous Ozzy who bit off the head of a bat is okay? It's OZZFEST. Ozzfest in its own right is far from "Family Oriented" I was super PO'd about that one. However, a few weeks later I went to the show in NC, and saw him. Love him!!

to be honest, i havent been exposed to much of what yall listed. i do like my classic ozzy, ac/dc, metallica, pantera.

i absolutely love the deftones though. ive seen them more times than i can count and definitely worth a mention.... the strokes (not metal at all, but worth listening to).

Joining late, but ME TOO!! :) Always have been. Glad to know others enjoy 'good' music round here, hehe.

I'm not a huge fan of metal. I dislike speed-metal, and heavy metal, but I do happen to love love love 80's hair metal. I don't know if that counts. :)

I've been known to sing along with metallica, though.

Oh and I do absolutely love Marilyn Manson. I've seen him live a couple of times. I really wouldn't call him metal though.

Glad I found this thread! I love metal and alt rock. Though, sorry to be the only one, but I have never really been a huge fan of Metallica - I know HUGE GASP! My DS-16 loves them. I actually got him hooked on Fear Factory and Disturbed. We saw Disturbed in concert in the UK and my DH took DS to the Summer Breeze in Germany last year where they got to see Fear Factory. I wanted to go, but I nursed my DD for 13 months and I didn't have a pump with me while we were in Germany. I love all other kinds of metal and alternatives as well. I love Marylin Manson, Korn, Disturbed, Godsmack, Seether, Cradle of Filth, and some death metal every now and then. I am 36 and proud of it! Perhaps I should also start a tattoo thread, have loads of them- I know not very frugal, but one can save up for it!

I'm so glad I saw this! I am so into nu-metal ie slipknot, korn etc. but I also am so in love with the deftones. My favorite band ever is Tool and I finally got to see them in concert this summer after waiting 6 long years and many "sorry tickets are sold out" messages. I also love APC, Evanescence, Disturbed, the list goes on...
