We have one opening in July. I have heard it is like Sam's, but without a membership fee.

GFS is a commercial/ restaurant supply company. Their products are sold in bulk like Sam's but are more geared to the commercial side. It's a great place to go if you are catering a party or run a business such as a resaturant/snack bar or day care. You will not find many items there used in the average day to day household.

I get their flyer here sometimes and they seem to have some good deals but I haven't been there myself. Did you say before you are in Louisville? If so, have you tried B&E salvage?

No, I'm further south, in Bowling Green.

They do seem to have some good deals. Although I'd go :screwy: trying to find the best deals EVERYwhere! lol

I haven't been there in a while, but from what I remember, most of the items are prepackaged and some is frozen, etc. I don't believe they have any fresh produce, meats, etc.

There is a GFC here in Louisville (behind Jefferson Mall) It hasn't been open long. Maybe I'll take a wander in this weekend. I too prefer B&E Salvage. They are only here though.

Back in Ohio we went there and got some turkey lunch meat and cheese. You had to buy the whole thing (like what you see at the deli) but they sliced it all up for us and we just separated it and froze it when we got home. It was yummy, cheaper than the deli, and lasted us forever. Otherwise, we really didn't see anything we would buy regularly. I thought quite a few of their prices were higher compared to Sam's as well. This was almost two years ago though so a lot could have changed.

I have taken the brownies to parties, and people just love them. Very good.

We have one and a lot of the things are geared towards catering type things. But the deli meats are way cheaper and very good quality. (at least the stuff we have bought) The rest is frozed items and they are more expensive than sam's. The frozen corn (the gfs brand) is really good though.

Other Louisville gals...where's B&E salvage..and what are their prices like? In Sellersburg there's a salvage grocer and their prices are excellent on most things, except like frozen, milk, etc. But they have capri suns for .10/ea. salad dressing .25/ea (the good stuff too lol) 15 packets of instant oatmeal for .99, whole bean coffee for 1.50, etc etc. But of course, I'm always up for BETTER deals!!!! thanks!
