In May of '99, I went to a homeschool conference in Memphis. There, I listened to a lecture given by Steve and Teri Maxwell. They're a homeschooling family whose ministry appears to be helping families schedule their homeschooling days with efficiency. I bought their book Managers of their Homes, and it's really good. I even made up a schedule, but haven't adhered to it, lol.

Anyway, if you have scheduling issues and would like to learn more about it, check out http://www.titus2.com I'm sure you'd find it very helpful.

To those who have their own systems, I'd like to read about it. I need all the help I can get. (Isn't that pathetic? And I only have one student, too. )

I have looked at Managers of their Homes, and it was just too much for me. :( I do need to do some work in this area. I know what does NOT work for me, and that is an hour by hour type of schedule.

Each week I make out a lesson plan for the week. I map out the lessons for each day, but we don't have a specific time that we do the lessons. Between church activities, swim lessons, etc, etc, there are some days we start at 10am, and other days not until 3pm. DD is pretty adaptable, and we usually get everything done. (Dh works an odd shift, too, which throws us off a bit.)

What I really need is a Page 2 to remind me to do laundry on Monday, vacuum on Tuesday, etc. Maybe Page 3 would be for the kitchen - shop on Monday, bake on Tuesday, OAWC on Wednesday, etc.

I think my goal for the new year is to pull this all together into a workable system. :)
