A recipe passed down to me from my granny.
AIR BUNS
Let rise 10 minutes:
1/2 c. water
1 t. sugar
1 yeast
Put in large bowl:
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vinegar
3 1/2 c. water
8-10 c. flour
No kneading. Let rise 2 hours. Punch down and let rise 1 hour. Form into buns. Let rise 3 hours. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
