Dish detergent, boosting if extra-greasy add up to 1/2 cup baking soda to usual dish soap

Has anyone tried this?

It works great on dishes and in the laundry. I buy the 12 pound bag of baking soda from Sam's for $5.88 and DH adds 1/2 cup to laundry and 1/4 cup to dishes. It also works great in the carpet cleaner, too.

Is that 1/2 or 1/4 c. to each sinkful of dishes or to each bottle of dishwashing liquid?

I do 1/4 c per load of dishes
