We are big hunters and fishermen here. Well... not so much me since Tyler came into the picture. :)

Archery deer opens this Saturday and Waterfowl season is opening in 2 weekends. I hope to have a full freezer before winter gets here! We have some Steelhead from PA in there too. mmmm!

Does your family hunt or fish?

My hubby is freezer is full of deer meat and red snapper. He hopes to get a turkey and a hog this year.

We use to hunt and fish years and years ago and then stopped once we moved to the city.

Dh and the kids have taken up fishing this summer and we have quite a bit of fish in the freezer. He is now talking about goose hunting and wants to go out and get a deer also this year.

It really does help in the grocery totals!!

My family has always hunted and fished. I went with my dad when I was younger, and go with my dh now (when I have time). It does help with the grocery bill, but dh spends a lot of money on equipment.

i fish as much as i possibly can it is so relaxing (if the children are not there to tangle lines.) i went hunting last year, (without the gun) and had a blast i was so surprised i enjoyed it so much. growing up i went with my father one time and we tramped thru the woods and underbrush for hours and saw nothing, now i live on the praries it is so much easier to find them, we did get a deer opening day. Though i only drug it i am so hyped up on hunting now though. i want the deer (both whitetail and mule) bear, sheep(bighorn) and a turkey and elk and anything else i can get a license for.

We just got a shock. Dh wanted to hunt this fall but we don't have the money for a gun although he does have a shot gun for birds. Our oldest son called this morning and told him he could pick up his rifle on Monday when we are in the city and so dh will now be able to hunt deer. Dh is one happy guy right now!!

Dh is an avid fisherman....he doesn't hunt anymore. I don't, can't stand to kill animals. I'm not a huge "greenie" or anything but it just hurts my heart to kill em. I could be a vegeterian if I weren't married to such a carnivore.
