Do any of you use a dehydrator? If so, what things do you use it for?

Just a few things you CAN do with one...

Fruits:
(Apples, bananas, berries, Coconut, grapes, melons, citrus, rhubarb, etc...)

Fruit Leathers using apple sauce, or any pureed (in blender) fresh fruit.

Veggies:
(Beans, Beats, broccoli, carrots, celery, corn, garlic, onions, peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, etc...)

You can make a Tomato Sauce and then dry it as a fruit rollup kind of thing. Then just add water to rehydrate and use. *I will post the recipe.*

Jerky:
(Pork, chicken, fish, beef, venison, etc...)

Herbs and Spices

Crafts (Flowers, potpourri, pomander balls, dried apples, dough ornaments, etc...)

Just think how much healthier this stuff is for us and our family than the boughten preserved junk. :D

I don't have one but have put it on my wish list. I've heard nothing but good reports on dehydrators and all my friends who have one wouldn't be without it.

I am all excited now... wish I had the money to just go buy one so I wouldn't have to wait for mine to be sent to me!!! :D

I've been reading up on it more and I like this idea. I never got too much deeper into it than fruit roll ups and jerky... but you could really use this as a money saving tool. And also things are healthy this way.

I have $20.00 in vouchers for the Farmers Markets here that WIC gave me. I was going to go get the stuff, but I think I'll wait till me dehydrator gets here and use them to get stuff for it. :)
I'll have to come across some canning jars somewhere too.
