Well... I borrowed Dave's mom's dehydrator till I get mine here from PA. :D

I made some Applesauce fruit rollups today... but I made them too thin and couldn't peel them off the sheets. So... they were a flop. :( I got a few pieces peeled off for Tyler to munch on tomorrow, then I gave up. I'll know better next time. I'll make them thicker, and I read that I can spray the sheets with Pam too.

I have Beef Jerky going right now... should be done when I wake up. I have sweet n sour beef jerky marinating in the fridge that I will put on in the morning when I take this batch off. :D

I think tomorrow if I get a chance I will go to the Farmers Market and see what they have. Its kind of late in the year, but hopefully I can find some dehydratable stuff. I have $20.00 in vouchers from WIC to use up anyways. :D

Sherry, I never had luck with those fruit roll ups either! I used to make beef jerky and my kids especially loved the pineapple I dried. Apple rings turn out pretty good and can be used for lots of recipes. Apples are pretty plentiful this time of year. My dehydrator in out in the storage shed now but, I used to do lots of great stuff in it!

Hmmm, I have a dehydrator collecting "cabinet jam". Keep it up and I may just have to get it out!

I have been using my dehydrator lots lately. I tend to use it more in the fall. I have dehydrated at least 6 batches of tomatoes, some pineapples, and today I am dehydrating apples. The beef jerky is very good in the dehydrator. We usually make jerky in the winter. My dh makes that.

Let us know what else you dehydrate Sherry.

Sherry I'm so happy you were able to get one. You'll have to give us some recipes and share all about your experiences.

One is on my wishlist that is for sure.

Well... I'm back from the Farmers Market. I had $20 to spend from WIC. Heres what I got...

2 big bunches of Cilantro
1 big bunch of sweet basil
10 huge onions
15 nice tomatoes
½ peck of VERY sweet apples
1 yellow watermelon (supposed to be sweeter than red ones)
1 big basket of green beans

I think I did good. I had fun. I love those places!! :D

Ok...now...
Can I do more than one thing at once in a dehydrator? Like I have Jerky on right now... can I add trays and do these herbs or onions? Or beans?
This thing has 10 trays!

Also what do you store your dehydrated stuff in when its done? Canning jars, Tupperware type stuff, ziplocs? Whats best?

Thank you for the updates and recipes. I have been thinking I want one, but want to be sure I'll use it.
My main reason for one would be soup mixes, so I am not sure if I am quite ready to buy one yet.
