Anyone know if canning jars are on sale or clearanced anywhere?

I need lids and rings desperately! I want to put up some apple sauce.

How much do jars usually cost to buy?
LOL... I have $10 I'm allowed to spend... can I get some jars and lids with that? :D

I KNOW! I should check at Savers (thrift store) I bet they may have a few cheap, maybe. They have a big housewares section. I'll check there first.

they aren't that much at walmart. you get the box of jars with the lids too.....and they are less than $10. ;)

Sherry you should be able to get them at Walmart for a good price and in a case of 12 with lids and everything. Here they run around $7 for quarts so you should be able to get them cheaper there.

They are $5.97 at the WalMart here.
I called before I left to check... then Tyler and I set out to WalMart. And then we broke down. :(
2 hours later Dave got there and towed my van home. And here I am... with no canning jars.
Do you know I stood beside my van on the freeway in rush hour for over an hour and NO one stopped. Do you have any clue how many cars are on the freeway in rush hour in St. Paul???
Anyways... I got the stroller out and was putting Tyler in it to walk to a phone and a lady stopped and offered me a ride to the station. But then a Highway Helper guy stopped and I used his phone to call Dave who was OUTSIDE! Soooooo I called his sister and she drove to our house and told him to come get me. Another hour later he got there. *sigh*
But once I got Tyler out in sight 8 people stopped! lol

So now I'm here relaxing. I have Cilantro and Basil in the dehydrator. Gotta make dinner, I suppose.

You better hurry though, Big Lots had them up on the top shelf and not too many left here. I think they are getting ready to put them away maybe.
I should pick up some more for my Christmas gifts in a jar. Don't want to run out!!
