I think between Sherry dehydrating and me canning, we should soon be able to feed an army. :D
I just counted my stock and I have 86 qts and 56 pints of veggies, pickles, fruit and jams/jellies in our basement. Not enough in my books, but it sure will help.
Last year I had way more but our garden didn't produce as well this year.
Have any of you kept track of what you've done?

OMG Mamma That's GREAT!!...I am sooooo jealous right now!!!! LOL!!!!
The only thing I can every year is salsa and I didn't even do that this year!
We don't have a garden,but my aunt is very generous and shares with us :D
They have a garden with her in laws and they can/freeze what they want and share the rest.Their garden didn't do as well this year either,so they didn't get to can or freeze as much as they usually do. She gives me squash,okra,potatoes,and tomatoes.I usually freeze the squash and okra, and make salsa with the maters :)
I'm going to get on dh next year... I WANT A GARDEN!!!!! whaaaaaaaaa

I haven't done any canning, I haven't in years..... I am so afraid of not getting it right. I know how much effort it is though.... You have been a very busy Mama !!!! I do a lot of freezing, I have a friend that farms 4000 acres, they give us 4 or 5 seed sacks of sweet corn every year. I cut the corn off the cob, blanch and freeze in large ziplock freezer bags.... I have about 25 lbs of it in the freeze.... It takes quit a bit of space.... I also freeze peeled, blanched tomatoes for salsa, stews, soups, ect.... I wish I had 1/2 of your energy...

Well... Im not going to have NEARLY as many jars on my shelf as you , mamma! But I think I'm doing ok for a first timer.
Just wish these onions and tomatoes would dry up so I can put my carrots, broccoli, and green beans on! :D

Seriously though, I want to move to the country so I can have a garden and get into canning and freezing big time. THINK of the money it would save!
