Does your Sunday morning consist of a trip to the store to get a couple of Sunday Doubles?

Does your DH know not to gather up the coupons sitting on the kitchen counter top because they are in a VERY SPECIFIC order?

Does your six year old know that Kroger does not double over a dollar?

Couponers of the World Unite!

I "coupon". It is a hobby, it is also a lifestyle if you were not aware. It will slowly take over your living room, your pantries, your bedroom floor. I have had dreams about spectacular coupons. Most people don't understand, this kith is for people that do.

I "coupon" and I am NOT ashamed of it!
Its like I tell my 9 year old sister... would you rather keep your money or give it away???

:dollar::dollar::dollar: and a :pirate: for good measure.

ps. I am a very normal person, I just like a reeeeally good deal.

I also clip coupons, but I am very selective. Why are coupons not available the weekend prior to holidays?...............I guess everyone needs a break.

I love them - they are little slips of free $$ :D

I love them so much that I send all of the unused/expired coupons on to their second life to an USMC base in Japan! ((did you know that our military bases overseas can use expired coupons for up to 6 mths after the exp date!!!))

:D

just keep clipping.....just keep clipping....just keep clipping

I use to be so in to couponing but got out of it when I was in school because I couldn't find the time to do it. I am currently taking the semester off and can't wait to get back into it!

I take FULL advantage of using expired coupons here! I just wish they'd double like stores do in the states!

I love couponing! Since this is such a small base, there are only about 5 regular cashiers. They all wince a little when they see me coming with my coupons! hehe

I love to use coupons and when I get the items free with them it makes it all the better. I never go to the stores without them because you never know when you will come across a good deal.

I'm here! I'm up to about 50% savings on all my hba, food, etc. shopping. Not to shabby since no one around here doubles or takes expireds. I'd like to get the coupon board over here going a little more. I am a member of another couponing forum, but I love FV.

My most recent couponing experiment is to start contacting companies to request coupons. You would be amazed at how many free's you can get, just for asking!

 Avid couponer here!

I clip all the coupons, separate out the ones I use and then sell the rest online.

Before I shop, I pour over the sale flier with my coupon box wide open and pull out the coupons that match the sales.

Couponing is how I built my stockpile years ago, and I plan on getting back to that this year.

Couponers of the world, UNITE!

I am a coupon freak myself! I have been known to walk in the grocery store with over $150 in groceries and spend less than $30! I have so many that I have to keep them in a 3 ring binder. LOL

Love the trains, trading, and in desparation I may "buy" some even.

I have a 6 pocket binder. Each pocket is a store I shop with flier, list and envelope of coupons. It is my Sunday routine. Infact, it has interfered with church lately! Got to get a better routine! I love coupons! The guy at Rite Aide gets as excited as I do when ringing my order.

I love to coupon but I don't buy the Sunday paper. I go to the recycling bins and grab as many as I want. There are recycling bins in front on Walmart and the Sunday paper is put out there Monday. Tomorow I'll go and grab a bunch of the P&G inserts.

I AM A COUPON QUEEN! :lol3: I have a love affair with the whole thing! So much fun! It is a hobby/game for sure. I did really well in CA with coupons, tons of freebies and stuff for pennies on the dollar. Problem came in when I moved here and there is NO place that doubles my dollar off coupons. The double dollars off is how you hit the motherlode! Also the only store that doubles at all, only doubles up to one dollar. For example if you have a .75 cent coupon, you only get 1.00 off. I also think my newspaper is the pits and doesn't have what a larger cities paper would have. So, I will probably either buy coupon inserts from a coupon site I heard about here or start buying a different newspaper.

DH got me into couponing a couple of months ago. I have tried to take it to a new level though! I get the Sunday paper then order extra inserts from a website - saves me from having to buy the whole paper and dispose of it (minding the footprint). I also have a binder that I keep everything in. It's has extra large clear pockets and I have it in catergories as well. I also have a seperate box that I use for trading. I try to tell folks it's a money saving hobby - but they start to wonder when I pull my binder out! I am also really sad as soooo many of my Q's are expiring :hocus: I have been shopping like mad to use up the good ones that will get my stock pile well stock for the new year. Great thread!

Are you serious?! That is awesome! Do they care if people take them? I want to try that but I don't recall seeing any recycling bins by the Walmart here.

Our stores around here only double up to 50 cents, and you can only get one item per visit, so no multiple buys on the same trip to the store. Now, they will not accept coupons printed from your computer! So, around here it is not even helpful. I used to love it when they doubled up to a dollar and you could make multiple purchases at the same time. What a bummer!

So now, I just cancelled my newspaper and read it online and shop mostly at dollar stores, wal mart and Aldi.

Couponer here! My 6 yo and 4 yo know to collect all the blinkies as we walk down the aisles. They have started using it against me a bit though-"but Mommy, it's buy one get one free!" LOL I try to go alone whenever I can...I get disappointed if I don't save at least as mush as I spend-and I live where they don't double coupons!!!

I am known and called a "COUPONQUEEN" in my area. I too am obsessed with my coupons and stockpiles. Shoprite is my BEST FRIEND.. I can get the best deals there out of all the stores I shop from...CVS is another good one when they have the buy 1 get 1 free deal you can makeout like a bandit..Did you know that you can use a coupon on the free item as well as the one your paying for in the b1g1 free deals??? thats how(just one of my good fortunes) I got all my Softsoap bodywash for free! I can't tell you the last time I had to buy any bodywash..I use to buy lots and lots of Sunday papers for the coupons that I knew were really gonna benefit me.. Then one night I asked the clerk whom was the store manager (this is the store I would buy all my SS from) what they do with all the leftovers papers they didn't sell? He told me that they throw all of them out when the store closed at midnight...without even thinking I asked if I could have the ones they didn't sell and he said come after 9:00 pm Sunday night and you can have them all..Well that was pure heaven to my ears..LOL.. thats even more savings other then the gas to go back and forth to pick them up.. I always ended up with no less the 30 papers and as much as 70 papers..imagine the fun I had sorting through all those coupons.. I could spend all day telling you the adventures of my good deals over the years with saving thousands and thousands of dollars combining sales w/ coupons.. I'm proud of it! It's the only thing in my whole life(meaning friends and family) that I know no one can defeat me at.. It's a great high!

Heres a small list of items that I got for free that I haven't had to buy in years..BTW..these are all name brand products..CVS,Shoprite,Price Chopper,Grand Union,Shop & Stop is where I got these listed below..

toothpaste
baby powder
toothbrushes
Lysol cleaning products
409 cleaning product
Glade candles
Glass Plus
Scotch brite 3-pack scrubbies
razors ( I have at least a 1000 left of the disposable 5 packs)
Mach 3 razor w/ the blade refills
Schick Intuition Razor w/refills
Shaving cream
Ziploc containers
Dawn dish soap
Hot sauce
plastic wrap
Air freshener
Alway maxi-pads
Dixie disposable cups
Campbells Chunky soups (I'm down to around 100 cans from having over 500 cans)

I know that there's lots more..but thats all I can think of right now.

WOW!!! Just wow! That is soooo amazing!! I wish I could do that here where it is somewhat dismal and I have to work harder to find the deals! Do you still get tons of coupons from the same store? I have a friend who used to have access to lots of coupons like that and she worked at a grocery store that doubled. As she checked people out she would watch what all the "coupon queens" bought throughout the day and when she got off work would load up! She is the one who taught me how to REALLY coupon. There is a definite technique way beyond just combining sales and coupons. I must say you have it DOWN!!! Way to go!! Do you shop at Walgreens at all? I started a thread the other day in the Town Crier section of the forum and would love your input there as I'm sure many others would too!!!

I'll take that as a compliment..LOL...On a serious note you could try it yourself just by asking the managers at your local convenience stores. The worst they can say is no..right? You might find that now they return the Sunday papers for store credit..however you could ask just for the inserts if thats the case..LMK how you made out if you decide to do it..

Unfortunately that store has new owners and I stopped a little over a year ago going there. I was able to get the free inserts for close to 5 years..I could ask the new owners..but I find that the coupons aren't as good( face value) here in my area like they are in other states. What I mean by that is that my stores double coupons up to.99 in my area..alot of our local face value coupons are like $1.00/2 items so since my stores don't double $1.00 coupons other areas and states are getting 75/1 coupon verses our high face value coupons here..Does that make sense? So anyway I find buying my coupons from online coupon services I makeout better in the end and less clutter in my home without all the piles of coupons I use to have all over my table..I now just buy what I need. I found myself to obsessed with stockpiling and not having enough room to put everything from all the good bargains(mostly freebies) I was getting..I have alot of my stockpile stored at my mil's house. I can't wait to have a home w/a basement to store my surplus..do you know what a pain in the "A$$" it is when you run out of something and know that you have lots of it but you have to get in your car to drive 5 miles to get that item or items from your mil's basement because your kids didn't bother to tell you they used the last of the whatever you needed..

Yes... there is alot of different techniques to shopping not just groceries but other items too..I love to shop the Old Navy online store for my kids clothes..I wait till a good sale and often they offer online discount codes like 20% off and free shipping if you spend $50.00 you have to have their card to get the free shipping on a $50.00 purchase unless they have another offer going on and the best of all is the codes are stackable .. here's a example if your not sure what I mean..I place the items in my cart deduct the 20% off code (in promotional box )which I make sure the end price is just at or over $50.00 for free shipping code to be discounted in the promo box(believe me when I say you can makeout better with their sales then buying from Walmart...no offense to anyone who buys clothes from Walmart)and to make the deal even sweeter they don't charge tax. So now not only did I get my family clothes on sale but I also got the 20% off..the free shipping.. plus no sales tax..and also saving me at least $7.00 in gas... because the nearest Old Navy store is 45 minutes away from me...P.S. You can search google for discount codes to just about any online stores..

Walgreens is quite a travel for me to get to so I don't ever go there. We just recently got a RiteAid store in my area....I've heard they have alot free after rebate sales..but I haven't ventured into that store yet.

Thank you for putting a smile on my face... I really needed that right now.. Yes.. we do hope to get a house this year. If all goes well with my Dad paying us(he owes us $2300 and should get that amount from his income taxes) back the money he owes us it will payoff my Dh"s truck... then we will focus on knocking a couple of thousand down on my trailblazer loan so we can trade it in and getting a good used Suburu or Toyota for half the payment we have now..Then it's smooth sailing from there..We would pretty much have very little dept to get our home. I'm glad I can help somebody with my knowledge.

I too give myself the title of Coupon Queen! My screen name is "coup" which is the knickname I gave my coupon binder.

I love it! No many other hobby pays the way couponing/rebating does. Okay, maybe Ebaying pays better, but I haven't ventured there yet!

I do subscribe to 2 Sunday only papers, so my investment is $3 per week.

Once a month or so I venture to the Krogers in the next city over to take advantage of their "double up to and including $1 coupon all the time" deal. In between those trips, I shop at Walgreens and Rite Aid for FAR items.

My 4 year olds will "help" me cut coupons every Sunday. They know that coupons "save us money".

I also branch out from couponing and stalk the 75% and 90% off holiday merhcandise at Target & other stores. I Christmas/birthday shop all year round.

Fellow couponers unite! And I'll see you at the checkout lane! I'd get behind you just to cheer you on!

Ha-Ha! I thought I was the only one with a name for my coupon binder! I call mine "My Precious". :D

I have been couponing for 30 years now, since I was a young bride of 16. I was getting some fantastic deals at Homeland (double up to $1.00 coupons everyday!) but they closed all the Homeland stores here over a month ago. :(
Dillon's doubles .50 to .95 coupons up to a $1.00, so a .75 coupon is worth a buck. There are no limits. I also LOVE the Target printable coupons! These can be COMBINED with a manufacturer's coupon for some awesome deals! I use coupons everywhere, Dollar General, Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, etc.

Since we began to eat healthy, and cut out most processed foods, white flour, and sugar, I have had to give up all the free cake mix, instant mashed potatoes, and Hamburger Helper. I did get some free Oil of Olay bar soap at Walgreen's this week. Made a profit on that one, really. I spent $1.25 for two packages after coupons, and received a register printed coupon for $4.00 off my next purchase. SWEET! I do find coupons for healthy foods, too, like Quaker Oats, bagged salad, frozen fish filets, frozen unsweetened fruit, frozen vegetables, raisins, etc.

I wear my coupon queen crown with pride! :king3:

Doesn't it feel good to know you are not alone? I tease my husband that Coup is our third child; he has to go everywhere with us!

I too went to Walgreens' this week, but the Olay was sold out. So I got Zest and Ivory (with coupons) for a little more than the Olay ($2.24 for 6 bars of Zest.)

My daughter had a polly pocket birthday this year due to the $5 coupon that came out in November. I think she got 10 sets of Pollys and I paid about $5 total for them.

I wish continued success to you and my precious!

I want to be a couponer....truly I do. I have started and failed on the couponing road many times. We don't have even one store in our town that doubles coupons. We have to drive a 70 mile round trip for that. It seems when I get organized and am raring to go, I get there only to discover they are out of the product or never got it from the start. Sometimes I can get a raincheck and sometimes I can't. :sigh: And that means more trips, using more gas. I think I lack skills. :dopey:

My name is Cathy and I'm addicted to couponing. It started when I was 18 and living on my own, so I'm a long time user. It's gotten worse as I get older. Hardly a day passes that I don't look for, find or think about where my next coupon will come from. I can't stop at one either. I need hundreds a week to get me through to the next delivery. Some people look at me with disgust when they are behind me in line. I know I could cut back but I really love the feeling I get when I use them. Thanks for listening.:pumpkin:

I go through spells of being really into coupons. I've never been one who could gather up a ton of coupons. I hate cutting them all out. I look at a coupon forum and sometimes you can find drug store sales ahead of time. What I've been doing lately is ordering coupons online for products I know we'll need/use. I'm also going to try to start doing some coupon swapping.
